| Quote SEB="SEB"Hicks came to Wire after scoring 78 tries in 181 games in the NRL. He then doubled that scoring rate for us.
Monas (J) comes to Wire after scoring 90 tries in 165 games in the NRL plus SOO and AUS recognition.
Gutted that Hicks won't be playing again but you can't argue with the CV of the replacement (minus recent doggy behaviour!)'"
Edited for accuracy.

| Sorry to see Chris go. We can only wish him well in whatever he chooses to do in the future. Just hope that the fans get to say goodbye to him "in person"

| Hicks was / is pure class.
A fantastic professional and I shall be sad to see him go. I would prefer him to stay to be honest.
Also a really nice bloke off the pitch.
I decried his signing at the time (an Ozzie journeyman) but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Come back Chris for a match or two - you'll get a massive reception from us Wolves fans.

| agree with all the sentiments. chris has been an outstanding player for us. i don't think i've seen a winger who who can finish tries off like chris, not just wire
but any side. to be honest i'm a bit gutted he's leaving us. joel is a quality player and i'm really looking forward to seeing him play but at the same time
our side will be missing something with no hicks.

| I'd suspect that, given he's now retired, he'll be back off to Sydney as soon as possible. Staying a few extra weeks to have the dubious honour of a run out in a pre-season friendly is hardly appealing, is it?
He can fly back over next August to lead the side out at Wembley

| I can't imagine Hicks wanting to play in a pre-season friendly with the Academy players in the freezing cold in front of a handful of fans. He will probably want to go back to the sunshine, watch the Ashes and have a holiday and not worry about keeping himself fit for training etc.
The club could invite him back to the HJ during the season as club guest of honour and then bring him out at half time or the end of the game with a microphone to say a few goodbyes and thanks to the fans and give everybody a chance to salute him then.
Also remember he'll be here for the 10 year reunion dinner of the back to back Wembley winners in 2019.
