We weren't very good at weekend with the chants of "the referee's an *anker".

Sadly, it appears that with success comes the lowering of the crowds average IQ. We often call other supporters for being ignorant and arrogant but it would appear that we're also on that slippery slope.

if the referee is banker then fair enough. most clubs' supporters will call the ref a banker success or no success.

Your'e probably right - maybe its just the volume that increases with success. However, SL as a whole cant realistically sell itself as a family sport until we break the habit of crude chanting. Surely, the crowd would better influence a referee if it didnt resort to personal insults.

Agree with you. would be nice if every supporter was respectable and appreciated the hard job (refs) they do but thats life.
