| The real question is where do you place ST on the Brough "git factor" scale (with Brough at 10 and Mick Gregory at 0).
Clearly JTs a good player and could be more than that eventually but that's irrelevent to this scale.
In my view he does show quite a lot of potential to move up the scale. At present I rate him an 8, quite an achievement for such a young player. One thing in his "git" favour is the development of new reasons for making us dislike him such as the clamping players hands when he is tackled, very inventive, even Sean Long didn't think of that.
OT why didn't Alibert sin bin the saints player (Wilkins?) after 5 minutes when he held back Myler? as he followed Atkins break. Clearly prevented a try scoring opportunity

| Quote Mini Rogue="Mini Rogue"There's the main difference right there between Tomkins and Eastmond, had that same shot been done on Eastmond he would have been looking to come off. Sam has a bigger heart and bigger mental toughness for the game than Kyle has.'"
massive respect for sam for getting straight back up, although complete lack for his thug of a brother joel!
my question is....what happened to this mental toughness against us at the DW, sam took a hit after about 15 mins and went missing for the rest of the game! granted, he didnt feign an injury, but he may aswell have done, as he didnt do a thing for the rest of the game worth mention, and theres where your wrong about the lad!
hes a very good player, but the moment things arent going his way hes gonna spit out the dummy and do everything to trick the referees into penalties, rather than play his way around the troubles!
however, he will never be as much of a mardy-bum than James graham, god he really does ruin the game with his constant crying and screaming!

| Mental toughness, do you even know what that is ?
Mental toughness is more than taking a big hit and shrugging it off, not reacting and getting wound up would come under the catagory of mental toughness, not little Sam. Look at players that just get on with it and don't argue for real mental toughness.

many moons ago i remember a team captain of mine saying to me,"even if it does hurt, never show it, it puts the fear of god in them"
that's mental toughness, so i agree with yed, moaning at the ref, handbags and dummies at dawn are all examples of gamesmanship, but underneath in some players it displays weakness, weakness that should and often can be exploited.

Kyle Eastmond? How is he better than Sam? He may well turn out to be, but currently I don't know how you can make that statement.

because he's not a niggly little penalty seeking (insert expletive at your wish)! thats how we can make that statement!
take your cherry and white tinted glasses off!
the boy is a great player, but thats got nothing to do with being a class act, thats all about how you handle yourself and your demeanor(sp), and in those cases, kyle blows sam out of the water!
