| I suppose they could strengthen Wigan but by how much? With the luxury of MSK i've managed to watch some NRL this year and haven't really been impressed with what i've seen of Lima or Finch. Wigan fans refer to Finch as the controlling half back but i've seen no evidence of that this season and Lima would be able to do more minutes than Feka. An example is this last week's game against Aukland. Finch looked more anonymous than S Tomkins against us and Lima, well, after about his 4th knock-on 1 commentator says 'he's not having a good game today' and the other says 'today, more like a few weeks'. I understand that different coaches can get more out of players as we've seen at Warrington this season but, what can Maguire get out of them 2 that Bellamy can't?

| Finch is an interesting one. He plays in a team with Cooper Cronk who is the controlling half back, Cameron Smith who is the fulcrum of the team, Greg Inglis who is a go-to man if they need it and Billy Slater who pops up anywhere. Finch has not needed to control things at the Storm.

I remember that fight very well, Perry definitley won it. Wonder if there will be any feelings there after that, hopefully add a bit of biff when the two sides meet, which isn't anything out of the ordinary!

| Lets be honest if we'd signed Finch we would all be wetting ourselves about signing one of the NRL's most effective halfbacks, and a proper halfback who isn't a hooker halfback. If Wigan had signed Brett Hodgson we would be laughing at them for signing somebody two seasons past his best. It's all part of the game, confidently predict that the opposition have signed a dud.
What does everyone reckon about Maguire as a coach, had anybody even heard of him when he was announced as Wigan coach? I remember us predicting he would be a big gamble as somebody untried at the highest level. Could the gamble backfire on Wigan and Macguire turn out to be a flop?

I wouldn't label Finch as one of the NRL's most effective halfbacks. Wouldn't even come close to the effective ones like...
Lockyer
Thurston
Cronk
Marshall
etc...

| Funny you get to etc only one name after listing the three best half backs in the world and 3 of the best ten of the decade. And Marshall may well be the 4th best in the world. Can you name three more who are better than Finch?

| i can't say i'm a fan of his, i'm of the opinion that he's one of these that gets spoken about a lot so there's a lofty opinion of him despite having not really done a huge amount.
