We had an extremely energy-sapping game only five days ago, while the Salford lads were chilling. We've had to bring a few new faces into the team and managed to keep the winning momentum going, which is all that counts at Salford on a Friday night in June. We've got a whole week's recovery time now, feet up and hope Castleford can do something special.
Well done Wire.'"
I'm with you.
Check Bradford out yesterday, they had an extra two days turnaround and couldn't back up with any sort of performance or result.
We've played Salford on a five day turnaround when you could clearly see we were physically spent at the end of the Bradford game, so I think to go there and get a result shows just how serious a threat we are in SL this year. Most weeks I think Smith is a performance over result man. Last week if you'd have asked him I reckon he'd have bitten your hand off for 17-16 and to just give the lads a couple of days off and re-charge as we're doing it tough presently with both the fixture list & missing troops.
Same this week, any sort of result would be fantastic given the circumstances. On the positive side, if we don't get any injuries in the short term, we're about three weeks away from some serious selection decisions and also the ability to rest players ahead of the semi final.
