Warrington were one of a number of Super League clubs who were flirting with potential 6 figure bills from HMRC relating to tax issues over image rights payments. I remember reading that Warrington got out of this by refusing to pay them, which was backed up when Chris Hicks touched on the subject once or twice as well.
Likely a storm in a tea cup, but if there was a mole who was going to expose a cheating organisation (As happened in the Melbourne case) I'd suspect his public outing on RLFANS.com might make him think again.
I believe from a reliable source that we were investigated early last season and players interviewed when Mickey Higham signed as it was rumoured he had taken a big pay cut to sign from Wigan. Result = No problems = End of
