Is really gutted :'( now I have to pick another favourite player I will be crying at the end of the season but good luck to him in Aussie will miss him very much

So that's almost a third of the SL season so far he has missed, and he missed a quarter of last year's too. Briers isn't a quota player and is far more important a player than Hicks. Wingers are easier to replace.

If this was Smiths thinking why give new contracts to Briers,Wood,Higham,and Gix, all have missed more games than Hicks in the last couple of seasons.

You need to weigh up the pro's and con's. Grix is still relatively young, Higham is pretty robust, Wood is a bit part player, and Briers is almost irreplaceable.

The other important thing is that none of them are on the quota.
