Bridge also praised the signing of full-back Brett Hodgson, as he will join the club from Huddersfield ahead of the 2011 season.
"He'll be a good signing and I've been a great admirer of him," Bridge said. "He's a good footy player and I think he'll add a lot to the squad.
"He'll also add more competition as well."
if mathers is going, then whos hodgson going to be competing with for the full back spot?'"
Riley?

Riley willl take over the full back spot when he does not play and t.s will put penny or r Williams onto the wing I would guess

| All this speculation and we don't know who else we might sign for next year. Say, for example, we signed, Kyle Eastmond, he would also be an option for full back.

I have always been a big fan of his throughout his time with us. I just think with his now playing for a contract (either with us or elsewhere) it would be great if he could earn that contract by taking his game to a whole new level.

| It really iritates me as to why [uall[/u Wigan fans hate him. The lad was never given a fair chance at Wigan and was shipped out in a deal that was no fault of his own - had no say in the matter, but strangley Wigan fans hate him. It's different with Gleeson he wasn't committed and wanted to play for Wigan.

To be fair, I don't hate him at all, I liked him when he was at Wigan, I just thought that was funny so I said it
Mathers was given a fair crack of the whip at Wigan, he didn't make the cut, like he clearly isn't doing at Warrington, granted he has been better at Warrington than he ever was at Wigan.
Why do you seem to think Wigan fans hated him because he went to Wire, the Wigan fans I know hate him because of some of the dreadful errors he made, or some of the half hearted tackles he put in, like slapping Gilmour on the in Cardiff on his way to the sticks, no others spring to mind, but it's definatly not because he went to Warrington, I don't think many people really cared where he went. What your saying is you hate Gleeson because he wanted to go to a different club?
BTW I hated it when some fans cheered everytime he caught something, or booed when his name was read out on the teamsheet. Mathers is a model pro, and his enthusiasm is top notch, he has just failed to live up to his potential coming through the ranks at Leeds.

| At this time and you would be a fool to feel otherwise should it be you, Mathers seems a little bitter and you can't blame him. Tony Smith has shown & proved that sentiment counts for nothing in his pursuance of glory for Warrington. Prior to the Cup final last season, Carney wrote an article for the BBC on the players. He stated Mathers was known as Richie Smith as Tony Smith loved him.
Feel for Mathers and I hope he gets what he wants in the end be it in the Super League or at Union.

I'm the same as you to be honest.
They look a close knit bunch now the players, with sincerity too. They look to take pleasure in each others success etc. They'd never have achieved this with Gleeson in the camp, he just looked a negative sort of dude.
Even Bridge looks happy nowadays, folk don't mention his moody demenour anymore, apart from when I just did.
