Fair enough, different opinions I guess. I just wish people would stop bashing him down all the time, its common sense that the more people do then the less confindence he's going to have and the worse he will play.

I like Mathers as a person but do you really believe the underlined? There's 3 better fullbacks at Wigan alone, and I'm not trying to be antagonistic. Warrington are a cut above the likes of Mathers these days.

While it can't be easy listening to constant abuse on the terraces I don't think professional players listen to what people have to say on messageboards an awful lot.

I would have Mathers above Phelps and Roberts is just as error prone as Mathers, I don't know about Pat Richards because I believe that he's best on the wing and I wouldn't move him. But as I said thats just my opinion.

I hope Tony Smiths opinion is the same and he continues to play Mathers because imo he just aint good enough to be the regular fullback for a team wanting to challenge for trophies

Considering he's been the regular full back in teams that have won the Challenge Cup and Super League history suggests he might be good enough.

I just feel he makes to many big errors to be in a team wanting to challenge for the top. Aside from that I dont think he poses enough of an attacking threat that the top fullbacks do

Atkins can't pass.
Bridge is a pi$$-head.
Myler can't organise a pi$$ up in a brewery.
Morley is well past it.
Higham can't pass.
The Andersons are useless.
Westwood is a penalty machine.
Our other kids are useless.

i must admit i was a bit surprised at that though.

i've said already this year, mathers was a breath of fresh air last year when he came in, when you bear in mind the shambles of a situation since grose in 05. But he's been less impressive (not worse, less impressive), as saddened has said though, from a try scoring pov/supporting he's not as dangerous as i feel riley is.
