| Wet heavy pitch. That means forwards need to perform and half-backs need to control your position on the field with a good kicking game. Our forwards did their part, the half-backs were awful for us. What happened to Monas's kicking game out of dummy half? Why does Richie Myler always seem to miss kick the ball? Grix was the most effective kicker for me, why didn't do it more often?
The referee was awful. If Saints we're trying to get the ball out of their half and struggling, they received a penalty. I wasn't able to see the ins and outs of all of them, I just thought it strange that I was able to predict when a penalty would be given against us. 3 times I called it.
That game was ours for the taking, we bottled it. It was ours to lose and we did so.

So that's a 12-9 penalty count I've heard we won, a 13-6 one and an 11-8 one.
Which one is it then?
And anyway Rogues, I believe the poster you quoted was questioning the areas in which the penalties were given, not how many penalties were given.

If I take your comment literally, that would imply we either:
a) didn't score tries, or:
b) fluked four scores
Which one is it?

Saints received three penalties on the first tackle. When it is even, it where, not how many that makes the difference.

Right. So Saints didn't really want to get to the CC Final?
I will reiterate; you are an imbecile.

| What's the obsession with the penalty count determining which team a referee 'favoured'?
Hyperthetical situation...
Team A v Team B.
Team A receives 10 penalties which are all awarded inside their own 20 on the 1st tackle.
Team B receives 5 penalties but they are awarded inside Team A's 20 on the 5th tackle.
Question 1
WHich team would be quoted as having won the penalty count?
Question 2
Which team gained greater advantage from the penalties given?

Of course we did. Unfortunately we drew Hudds rather than our perennial easy beats, but that's the nature of the Cup.

I was trying to comment on the fact that he wasn't refereeing the game based on the simple idea of giving a penalty when he saw one. I was able to predict that a penalty would be given against us in the next 2 or 3 tackles based on how much pressure Saints were under. I did so 3 times. There was so much going on in that game that he could have stopped for a penalty at pretty much any play of the ball that he wanted. I just thought it odd that I could pick out when he would do so.
All that said, We didn't deserve to win the game, any direction whatsoever from our half backs in the last 10 mins would have seen us win. Unfortunately there was none.
