| Saints were the best team on the night however silverwood did NOT help. We didn't play as well as we could of but i suppose it's better to lose early on in the league then right at the end (or in playoffs). Hopefully we will just get them back when they play us at the HJ.

I'd say there's a fair chance of meeting them at Knowsley Road in the playoffs and then there's the Challenge Cup too.
Doubt it'll happen, but it would be absolutley hilarious if their last ever game at KR, and then their first ever at the new ground were defeats to us .

| You lot are letting yourselves down by venting at the ref. He wasn't biased and he didn't favour Saints or help us out in any way.

I honestly believe that at some point in 2006/2007 something happened that turned Silverwood against Warrington.'"
Was it Silverwood who was caught/photographed in a compromising position with some Warrington fans in France or was that Klein?

| Quote Geordie="Geordie"I honestly beleive that Silverwood is Bent but is also very clever about it and it doesn't just come down to the penalty count but also general decisions.
1. In the first half wire where completing their sets well and giving saints the ball back within their 10 only for Silverwood to releive them with an offside penalty 3 times out of five.
2. Touch judge gives a 20 meter tap and he changes it to a drop out
3. Perfect view of Woody having the ball stripped yet he gives a knock on
4. Gidley knocking the ball dead which should have been a drop out and him giving a 20 meter re-start.
He stopped Warrington from putting Saints under an increased period of intense preassure but is then clever enough to even things out across the games. Wire won the penalty count but every penalty was in a nothing position or at a point where we where not preassurizing the Sants Line.
Those stats above make interesting reading, would love to see other sides win / loss ratios with him in the middle.'"
That's where I was initially coming from ref tempo.
I'm not sure that penalty counts tell the full story. I reckon if you ask any SL coach if you could choose when & where you want your penalties, they'd all take 'relieving penalties' when you're struggling to clear you own line on plays 3 & 4 and Saints were handed an awful lot of these on Friday, an awful lot. I think the first three sets of the game where these.
As for us, on at least two occasions, he gave us penalties when Saints were raggid, when we'd won the floor and had them on the back foot. Each time allowing Saints to re-set, it's counter productive.
If we fed the scrum it was re-fed three times. If we tapped on the 20, it wasn't in the middle. He niggles through a game.
One day, if we ever beat Saints (bare with me), as it's standard he'll be ref, even if it's 2050. I'd like to see the players celebrate in his face, like we did at school. Maybe surround him, and do that thing we you punch your hand with your fist and just mime "you're dead."

In the 2nd half you were handed about 5 of these. You were constantly in our half for a 10 - 15 minute period on Friday which was helped by the ref.

| The ban Richard Silverwood groups on Facebook
You lot should just take it on the chin. He didn't cost you the game, there were no questionable decisions from him (The decisions for drop outs were given by the in goal judge, NOT Silverwood and the offside call when Gardner and Gidley collided was right and the no knock on against Roby near our line was also correct) and he didn't help us with relieving penalties, YOUR PLAYERS did. What cost you the game was the fact that you didn't start playing until the hour mark and then you caughed up a chance to win it late through Mathers' frankly embarassing mistake.

| I trhink if you look at two of Warringtons tries they followed back to back penalties. Does that not alter the tempo? I do not like Silverwood, but for once I like what Keith Senior said. It's not so much the decisions but the fact that he comes across as arrogant when he gives them. If you want to see a relly poor referee "performance" come and watch Smith refree Saints !!

| OK chaps, he is not bent, biased whatever - he is no better or worse than any ref in the league. The fact that both Wire and saints fans are complaining confirms it for me, read any forum post match and you will see it.
They have a thankless task - with players constantly trying to gain an advantage by whatever means and having very little support from the sidelines. How many decisions do they have to make during a game, I am sure that it is 1000's - just consider the PTB - defenders clear the ruck, hands in the tackle, markers square, defence back 10, ball played correctly. This happens 5 times a set.
Last play kicks - all of the above plus is the offence on side.
There are changes that could be made by the RFL to assist all refs - put more faith in the TJs,
If anyone watched the England France union game last night, we should be thankful for the standard of our referees (despite the goon Moore who questioned all decisions then apologised for 90% that he got wrong after watching 8 replays from various angles)
Finally, our win / loss record with Silverwood is nothing to do with Silverwood - it is down to the fact that he usually referees our high profile games against the top sides (leeds, stains etc) that we have been unable to win during SL era.
