The problem with Richie Mathers game is that he's trying to do everything at a hundred miles an hour, his brain seems to be two seconds in front of his body For me all that's required of a fullback is to be secure on to a loose ball and be able to dump the opposition on their backsides in the tackle. Leave all the fancy stuff to the rest of the backs.

Mathers needs a spell in the academy working on the basics, I think too many coaches have got carried away after watching Billy Slater and decided full backs don't need to be able to tackle or catch kicks as long as they score tries.

P.S. Are you really proud of Matt King for squaring up to someone half a foot shorter, three stone lighter and a decade younger? Do you really think he would have the guts to pick on someone his own size?

That game wasn't lost by mathers or any other individual, we lost it as a team the same as we won the last 3 as a team. On the night we wern't good enough. It Happens

At last someone with common sense

As much as i like and admire Mathers i think we need a world class full back. Don't get me wrong i rate Mathers and you won't hear me slagging him off at every opportunity as sally said he's been the best full back we've had in years but imo a world class full back is what we need. Like a Webb or a Hogdson or a Slater. There's no excuse we've got the funds, as i say i rate Mathers but he isnt 'world class' and for our ambitions and our expectations this year and years to come we need a world class number 1.
