When he !st started and opposition speccies would always give him grief then he would score a try and give the "Bev salute" before scoring then the invective would really start! I was always worried he would drop the ball in the act of scoring.
One of the best memories was of Stuart Wright runnig all over the field to avoid being tackled by Bev. He was my rugby hero!

I have memories of him coming out of retirement for a cup game - maybe away at Dewsbury or somehere like that... early eighties??

But my memory is not what it was.............

Think Bev came back for a couple of games in 85/86 season when we had a glut of injuries to backs. Pretty sure his last game was at Wilderspool, Halifax rings a bell but not sure.
