in fairness 90% of the people on here will not really know who john bevan is may have seen a pic but will not of seen him play.

He was wonderful for us, great sevant for Warrington and terrific player in many positions. Remember him playing stand off against Leigh at Hilton Park in thick fog. He made countless breaks and kept appearing on his own out of the gloom ball in hand. Leigh speccies must have thought they were watching some sort of horror movie as Bev carved them up.

When he !st started and opposition speccies would always give him grief then he would score a try and give the "Bev salute" before scoring then the invective would really start! I was always worried he would drop the ball in the act of scoring.
One of the best memories was of Stuart Wright runnig all over the field to avoid being tackled by Bev. He was my rugby hero!
