Quote: Dave T "But that is all part of the marketing campaign.

Sometimes you just need to get them in, show them a good time and hope they come back.

People still had to pay a tenner to get in, to go to the cinema it costs a lot less, yet people wouldn't go if they had no interest in the film that was showing.'"

It is but only it does put the marketing campaign into context (my word of the day it seems). You can spend a million marketing a game but if the price is wrong, they won't bother. Drop prices by 40% and surprise surprise, people show up.

I'm not criticising them by the way, far from it. I'm sure they did their sums and that it made sense. Wigan have done very well on crowds the last fews years and deserve applause for it, especially as their core support is relatively disaffected.

Part of the marketing campaign is the price, I agree. This is why I always disagree with people who think sticking a load of posters in pub windows will get people in.

For many fans, especially lapsed or casual fans, and especially in the current climate, there needs to be an incentive to attend, and price is always a key one there. People love a bargain.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union. www.squadbuilder.co.uk:1883.jpg

I think nearly all on this thread are missing the point that Wembley is an occasion, as much as a game.

My Poker Blog - //blogs.pokernewsheadlines.com/mrmoves/:

Quote: Hadge1979 ""TIT" in my estimation is someone who does'nt know anyone elses circumstances and jumps to conclusions, not everyone can go the game due to different things just coz u got a seson ticket that dose'nt make u special and if people want to go to go and support the team after winning a trophy after so many years you have'nt got the right to slag them off ....'"

Totally agree with that post.

All these; "I've been supporting Warrington for X years, I've got a season ticket, I'm great. Everyone else is a glory hunter because there are never 36,000 people outside the ground every other week trying to get in." posts makes me sick. Especially when they come from people who have only been watching Wire since Superleague started.

I second that. I have a season ticket and am aware that some people are unable to have a season ticket due to not having the initial outlay yet the go to the games. A season ticket is not the be all of supporting the team. All that said it would be nice to fill the ground on Sunday not only for the game but to say goodbye & thanks to a few of the players.
