| Quote: 'Hitman' Norvern Soul "Without mentioning any names, as that would be unfair, I spoke to a relative of a lad who left Warrington for AN Other Super League club a couple of years ago and he said that he chose said club as their first team coach actually met them, sat down in conference with them, outlining where the club aims to go, where they expect the player to go and how they will go about getting the player to develop and realise his potential.
Warrington, apparently, just wanted to talk terms of a deal.
Let's not forget, though, either, that some young lads do get disillusioned with the way Service Area and Scholarship squads have been ran in the past. A bit like the thread about talents and attitudes, a lot of players were signed from junior clubs based upon their performances at club level, especially those who were physically superior in size to other kids. How many have come through to a regular first team place, though?
There is either a problem with recruitment or the coaching they recieved, as they haven't been developed into first team players. Perhaps these young players don't want to be part of a scheme that they don't believe will develop them for whatever reason.'" Spot on.

Sunny beach, Bulgaria I think? shame he was a very promising young player, at Wigan he was far to intent on getting involved with any scuffles that started. Dougie never really got the starts he needed at Stains, but then he has to show willing as well. Savelio hasn't done too bad and of course we got the best deal keeping Dec Patton his dad must be very proud at the minute.

True and the same applied to Josh Rooney, I don't know where he finished up.

| Quote: Paul Youane "Noticed that Dougie Charnock has just signed for Barrow. I guess missing out on Charnock, Wright and Woods wasn't quite the end of the world.'"
Charnock is more a reflection of Keiron Cunningham's genius coaching than it is on the player's potential. He was a quality 6 in the academy and the club had two choices, either play him 6 or bulk him up and make him a 13. Instead, Cunnigham thought he could turn him into a hooker and ruined the kid's career. Same with Savelio and the crazy decision to turn him into a prop, ruin his confidence and release him to whoever wants to turn him back into a superstar.

He had to retire due to repeated broken arms didn't he? I think he was going to make it at Championship level at least, if not Super League.

He broke the first one at Crusaders and the second time at Rylands as I remember
