| Quote: Les Boyd Is God "to be fair to cullen he`s done a lot..it was him who came in and saved us from relegation and got us in play off games..ok no trophies but getting relegation who knows where we`d be now..respect the guy for at least that...hope the guy cracks it at widnes....'"
If only Newcastle had got one goal and equalised yesterday, Shearer would have achieved a similar miracle to Cullens 2002 miracle.

| Very pleased to see that Smith is starting to have a positive impact with wire. Very early days but I suspect some of the positive changes have been because he's been strong enough to sort out some internal issues at the club, including people leaving. Like him or not, one thing that players seem to have for him is respect.
It'll be very interesting to see if the views of some Leeds fans change re Smith if Wire become truly competitive - it really is quite incredible how quick a large number were to bag him even after winning Leeds the title for the first time in 30 years (mainly fans too young to have witnessed firsthand the depressing era of the 80s+90s).
For some reason he seemed to get dissed a lot because he isn't over-emotional about things, at least in public, and rumours that the players 'didn't like him'. Well I and remarkably few others couldn't have cared less so long as he got results. The players may hate him (probably a load of cobblers spawned by a few disgruntled squad members), but they play for him, which is all that matters.
Anyway, I hope Wire kick on. I want as many truly competitive teams as possible in SL, and a new name on a trophy would not be a bad thing at all.
