"I didn't want to go, but that's life and I certainly don't hold any grudges whatsoever.

"Wigan mean a lot to me, they always will, but life moves on.

"Signing for Warrington is a fresh chapter in my life and it has proved a good decision."

Seems like One Trick Mick has a soft spot for the pie eaters!!! icon_lol.gif

I think we should start with him instead of Clarke. He will have a point to prove against Wigan for lettting him go when he was in brilliant form last year.

Might have a bet on 1st try scorer for Mick!!

Quote: JWP "You show me where I've harked back to anything or anywhere, not my style, you know that. Neither do I proclaim to be whiter than white on here, I've never been a 'taking my ball home' type, you know that better than most. I'm also not daft, there's a few folk on here, who've an axe to grind with certain individuals & the actions of certain individuals from times gone by (nothing to do with me, I must add), and are using the forum as a way of 'settling a score' so to speak, but I think it's to the detriment of the place, overall. The way folk are like 'tag-teaming' on posts and stuff, just making me cringe that's all.'"

No pal, you've not harked back (sorry if you thought that was aimed at you), my point was aimed against some who pursue a consistent antipathy towards certain members whose recent contribution when compared in their eyes against that of the historic causes them displeasure. You know who I mean when I say that (TANCW for one - who has been strangely quiet on this point, but often chastising previously)

I agree there is bickering, score settling, detritus, malaise, bumkin and general gashness on here. I would prefer it wasn't like that to be honest. But I recognise when a forum opens itself up to the public, and seeks advertising revenue on the back of it, it can only be expected. Like most lucent thinkers say, if you don't like the forum or AUP don't come on here. It's blunt but beautifully apt. The forum ain't owned by anyone, even if they were first on. That's my point.

I suggest those who have had enough of this forum create their very own new one with strict membership criteria. It would remove alot of the conflict.

So, no way a dig at you JWP, more a wider point.

Well why not? I am fair and understand the game and there has been marked difference in his application since that incident at Harlequins.

To be honest the same goes for the majority of the players. There is only one who really annoyed me last week but that was not through lack of effort just a lack of concentration and possibly core skills.

Fair point that Mark well said. Nearly all of the squad now are far more spirited and organised then we have been in a long time. The players are showing better attitude, togetherness and willingness to defend and win matches then there has been in recent times.

We'll have our one-trick-Mick and Richie Mathers, thanks. Even if he didn't want to leave, he knows he's moved onto better things now icon_smile.gif

Quote: Tony Catsmith "My thoughts echo those of the normal folk, who can see the huge differences between the two. I'd like to think that I can appreciate the good qualities that they both have & what they bring to the side. I'm happier now that we have Clarke starting with Higham from the bench, as oppose to the other way, which we trialed.

Clarke has a good rugby brain, he's very good at knowing when to slow the game down, and I like the calmness of him. He's also good got a good eye for a pass, as shown with his match winning try assist last week. To call him underrated is somewhat of a cliche, but I truly believe that he is. Every team has to have sort of 'nuts & bolts', that's what he is for us, he's our steady if unspectacular hooker.'"

That was a cracking pass, that move was what he/we were excelling at in 05 when clarke first started switching to loose and being the trailing runner behind swann and gleeson.'"
'"

Thats what I think Clarke does best, running a second line and forcing defenders to make a decision. He also has a decent kicking game.
