| i’m also puzzled about why they felt that Makinson getting across to Wrench was so praiseworthy. Wrench had to catch the ball, evade the tackler and the beat Lomax which lost him a lot of momentum. Ashton getting back and tackling the oil tanker that is Hurrell was a far better effort in my view.

Wrench chased down Welby too, which also prevented a try.

| If you watch a couple of different key moments in the game, wrench's pace is frightening, getting back on welsby, and when widdop broke through off the matautia pass he came absolutely nowhere to get himself in place as an option

| Been a while since we had such pace on the wings, it’s great. I don’t want our wingers’ main strengths to be clearing the line and safety under a high ball. Ashton and Wrench are actually pretty good at clearing the line but they offer so much more.

I've watched that first one a couple of times - he seems to be cruising back and then goes into hyperspeed over about 10-15 metres to put himself in position to make the tackle on Welsby. Very impressive
Also loved Mulhearn's effort to help Ashoton out on Hurrell - never gave up.

Exactly, it's pace off the mark with blistering acceleration that beats defenders.
Lineham was fast over a long distance, but very slow over the first 15 metres.

Yes….this!!!! Spent the last bloomin 4 years watching our wingers being used “in yardage” as battering rams. I love some genuine pace on the wings! Looks like we’re using it too which is credit to Powell.

| Wrench looks like he is going to be a proper player.
this season is all about taking positives and moving on.... The way some of the young lads have played this season, has been a real positive.

| Well believe it or not I avoided all references to the match until I had watched it on WireTV today.
Great display - heart, desire and more than a little skill.
Many positives despite the result.
Agree about Wrench and Ashton.
I am a bit baffled with Currie and King though.
Currie seems to be having very little impact on the game at the moment for someone who has set high standards in the past. He doesnt seem to be able to beat people or make yards, and has been caught out in defence too.
Likewise with King.
(Was King on the naughty boy step last week?)
Those 2 are my 'concern areas' at the moment.
I hope they make me eat those words soon.
