In terms of the health of the competition, wrong team went down.

Salford have tried everything bar breaking into people's living room and dragging them to Barton and still have attendances that would fit in my garden shed with ease, and still leave plenty of room for my collection of swimwear illustrated back issues. We lose the Hull derby, the HKR travelling support etc. and get to keep Dr NoClass and his bionic vocal chords.

We wanted promotion and relegation, and the match provided wonderful drama and entertainment, but I cannot begin to imagine how the HKR fans feel right now.

Have they tried everything though? I live about four miles away from Salford's ground in Manchester and you wouldn't know Salford Red Devils existed round our way unless you were a RL fan. Salford's marketing team can do a hell of a lot more than targeting Weaste and Eccles for fans since they are part of the largest conurbation of people in Super League.

Ken Sio always looks okay but I've not seen him more than a handful of times, how good is he over a season?

There's 3 or 4 but none that would get into our first choice 17. I doubt they would come to us on less money as cover when there are other teams out there who will offer better money and regular game time.

I couldn't honestly see any HKR player that I would like at the HJ - even if they become available. The standard looked like a good quality Championship game. Perhaps it was the comparison with the saints game which was still in my mind, but it seemed slow and ponderous with some really poor kicking from Dobson.

I couldn't make up my mind whether to hope for a Salford win because GOB was playing for them, or HKR because Hudgell was promising to field a reserve grade side for the 2017 season.

Well the RFL are investigating it with the police.

I take the opposite view.
If Salford went down koukash could have walked (he still could) and the club could have gone down the chute. With HKR there will always be RL due to the size and strength of support.
I fully expect them fighting to get back next year
