| Quote I know in recent times other clubs have named stands or stadiums after great players or there have been examples of statues being made to commemorate great achievements.
Leeds head coach Brian McDermott said: "I know in recent times other clubs have named stands or stadiums after great players or there have been examples of statues being made to commemorate great achievements.
"However, none of that would do justice to what Kevin Sinfield has done for this club already. You can only imagine what could happen over the next four years.

Brian Mcdermott oustanding genious of the very highest order
I can think of two statues in British Rugby League, Brian Bevans And Kieron Cunninghams, in Oz I can think of Dally messengers, Wally lewis and Laurie Daley's,
Mcdermott's right, a statue of Sinfield alongsied these wouldnt do him justice, right Bunch of ne'r do wells that lot.

Well, there's everyone sleeping a bit better in their beds tonight. I certainly am. No more idle speculation of this, imo, overrated player (though thousands of Leeds specs will disagree with me) coming to us, taking a big chunk of our salary cap. I respect what he's done in the game (pots he's won etc), but come on, he's not even got a "nailed on" GB jersey, in an era when we're not winning many test matches.
He's a very good organiser of Leeds around the pitch, but I can think of many Super League era players, who are better.
As for a statue, come on!. Mr MacDermott must have taken one too many bangs to the head, in his playing days.

he is talking about what he has done for the club.I remember Leeds greatest ever player, arguably getting the same kind of put downs.
What Mac his saying is that Sinfield is the heart and soul of the club right now,but honestly did you ever believe he was going to sign for any other club?

Think football's more your game mate. While Sinfield's international record doesn't stand up against any of those (hold up, actually it stands up quite well against Cunningham's), he is a fine player and has certainly been the most successful captain of Leeds RLFC in the club's history. Moreover, he has been a superb ambassador for his club and the game off-the-field.
What any of it has to do with this thread isn't entirely clear, though.

Anybody of any value in the game will tell you sinfield is one of the best players of his generation. He would walk into any SL and nrl starting line up.
