| Quote: Salford red all over "Please explain how I look foolish by breaking my season ticket down to £9.23 a home game and £18.50 to get in your ground ?
On the other hand after reading the drivel you've posted don't bother.
Remind my whilst rambling on about shiney stadiums with roofs and plastic seats whats that song you chant for 80 mins, ow yes "Fartown" an anthem to all you don't believe in. Quality
Comparing apples with oranges old lad. Why not compare our ST prices with yours?
How do you know what i chant / sing etc? Don't make things up. Its worse than your inept comparisons

| Quote: GT "It's what happens on the pitch that's important. Last year we beat Leigh at Hilton Park and got p*ss wet through in the process. I couldn't see the last twenty minutes because I couldn't keep my glasses clear. However, the atmosphere, the result and the chaotic celebrations for the tries meant that, in the pub afterwards, people were saying it was one of the most enjoyable away games they'd ever been to..'"
That was a glorius moment, i have never been so wet watching salford, the great thing was we swapped ends at half time and supported the team right into the teeth of what can only be described as a storm, the sky pictures didnt do it justice imo, hard driving rain right in your face, everyone got up for it and it ended up being a cracking atmosphere.
No roof, no seats that day. Roofs are the important thing, if i could design my own stadium id make sure the away end of the ground doesnt have a roof definately, no rebound of the sound onto the field, noise just goes up with no roof and the effects arnt as good unless there are 5000+ of you.

| Quote: GT "Do they? Really? Funny, I've never EVER thought at the Willows, Knowsley Road or any National League grounds that we've been to that my experience had been undermined or made to be less enjoyable because of the facilities around me. Jesus, I've watched many sporting events stood on a glorified park pitch and never felt like it had lessened my experience.
It's what happens on the pitch that's important. Last year we beat Leigh at Hilton Park and got p*ss wet through in the process. I couldn't see the last twenty minutes because I couldn't keep my glasses clear. However, the atmosphere, the result and the chaotic celebrations for the tries meant that, in the pub afterwards, people were saying it was one of the most enjoyable away games they'd ever been to.
Funny, on the few occasions I've actually sat in a seat at the Galpharm I've struggled slightly with leg room and had a numb ar*e after about twenty minutes. At the Willows I can stand up, move around without disrupting those around me and, believe it or not, see the full pitch.
Funnily enough, it's never really been discussed on here. However, when the discussions first came up about our new stadium the main thing that most people came back to was wanting a standing area at the new ground. Also, see the point I made above about the Leigh game.
That's not the point people are making. Of course, if there's a choice between standing under cover and standing out in the rain, you'll move under cover. That's a given. But to say a shiny plastic stadium enhances your enjoyment of the day ahead of what happens out on the pitch? Ridiculous.'"
1st game of 2005 was same for us at Hilton Park - and i got laughed at for wearing a 'big coat' that eveing, needless to say i had the last laugh

Doing what we did was a lot better then standing there getting drenched for nothing. The worse weather i have been in at rugby yet one of the best away games i have been. The atmosphere made it really, all second half singing near enough none stop and jumping up and down while singing nearly all half. Great day

Echo all above about Leigh away, what a day. Some cracking on the hoof songs made up, scenes bordering on anarchy for each try, all the fans together as one and us stuffing Leigh as well. Lovely stuff!
