| J Murphy
J Broughton
A Gibson
C Nero
D Williams
R McGoldrick
T Fages
L Jewitt
L Godwin
S McPherson
M Ashurst
A Dixon
S Wild
Replacements :-
B Gledhill
G Owen
R Boyle or James
R Williams
J James- A Neal
That's how I think it will end up , had to name the squad today , so this is it , McGoldrick has kicked for Cas , Fages & as mentioned Murphy aswell ,
Bit of a kick the nuptuals for Evalds & Sneyd though.
Can't see Veivers bringing in Williams R , with 3+ years SL experience and not throwing him in , big enough to play Centre, but think Nero will start inside Williams D

| I'll be disappointed if Sneyd or Evalds miss out because of McGoldrick.

| Disappointed?
How about we just allow the coach to pick a team that he feels will compete with Wigan

| I don't care if he can kick goals Mark Sneyd is not good enough to play at 6 or 7 in Super League. Is Howarth injured? I prefer Wagga & Owen anyway just asking.

| On what basis is Sneyd not enough? His 10 (rough guess) appearances over 3 seasons?

| He was woeful after Smith left alongside Holdsworth last season, what will he be like next to Fages? Would you be happy playing him there all season? Its only my opinion I can be proved wrong!

| All about opinions mate! Would like to see him have a run of 5 or 6 games before making a judgement personally.

He got two and a half games after Smith left until he got injured at Hull. In those games we beat HKR away, and everyone was awful against Widnes. Not really enough to make fair judgement.

| Sneyd was absolutely woeful against a very poor Castleford at Weldon Road - but then if Smith could have found touch with a simple grubber we'd still have won . I agree he is worth a decent run out and shouldn't be judged on the sporadic appearances he has been offered so far. His goal kicking alone looks exceptional.

| Athe moment Sneyd and Fages are both not the answer for Salford in Super league. Both are good prospects but definately not SL standard at the moment. We need an experienced 6 and 7 for the next 12 months and build as we go along, our two youthfull half backs will get buried this season if left in the two most crucial positions on the park and this will do more harm than good in the long run.
I dont think Howarth could fit in either after watching his performances at half back last season, he isnt going to guide us up the table!

| Trouble is, if you don't give youngsters the chance at SL how do they become SL standard?
Personally, it's the perfect time to blood young players. We the fans have no expectations for the season, there's no relegation, I say let them build their confidence. Let them gel. Let them get some experience under their belts.
They may thrive and surprise a few, or they may not. Sticking a couple of has-beens in there will do little for our season if the young lads sit on the bench getting frustrated.

| Totally agree - now is the time to blood the lads as we have nothing to lose in doing so.
