| Quote: Iain "What is the capacity of the terrace at LSV?
Also, what's the concourse like in our North Stand? Is it a single open concourse at that end (and were they stopping you lot from standing on teh back step too?)?'"
Think the North Stand at LSV is 3,000ish and it's much 'deeper' than the terraces at SCS (can see that just by the amount of terracing above the exits at Leigh when compared to Salford along with how much rows of crush barriers there are).
The full stand was open as far as I could see, but again it is an open concourse so it feels almost outdoor when in the toilets with it not having a ceiling as such. The toilets in that stand are on the side furthest from the terracing though so not sure if the peeping tom issue exists (I'd guess not because I'm sure someone would have spotted it )

The LSV north stand is a full 4,000 capacity, it is that that took the stadium up to 12,000 , from the original all seated 10,000

| Glad I was'nt on the front row in the centre, there must of been 12 or more coaches, trainers, water carriers and subs stood up in front of seats, it looked like being at an amateur game at rabbit hills

| I have to say on a very cold wet and windy day or night there is no where to get away from the elements or get warm in the north stand the wind was bellowing through on sunday and it was just as cold under the stand as it was on the terrace. Not a very good design which could put away supports off returning even though it's better than the Willows.

They aren't brand new stadia. Plus the view even from the back of the stand is below average. I have to say, to put all the money into one huge stand is a bit daft but thats just my unbiased honest opinion. when I come to watch you lot as a casual fan I will be sitting in the comfort of the west stand. Oh one other thing whoever posted that the ground is out by 45degrees is nearly right It's about 25 to 30 out . I took my compass and my sunpath and if you are in the north stand on matchdays with kickoff times like last saturdays you will need a sun visor.

ok but take your comments up with Salford City Council/Peel Holdings - the joint developers of the stadium

Isn't the view from the first 10 rows of terracing the same kind of view as every other stadium in the universe? How can it be below average?
It's surely a better view compared to the flat standing area behind the posts at the Willows end where many fans used to stand. You are obviously not aware that the lower level terracing is only phase 1 and the foundations are already in place for the second tier. (Whether this ever gets built is another question)

| I'm not a Salford fan I am a Leyther it's upto you lot to do that. On the plus side it is lovely big playing area and the lack of advertising hoarding down the sides gives it a nice open feel. I wish they would get rid of them at our place as they are an eyesore because they are nearly all empty.

| Must admit I thought the view would be a little better, where I was stood the bar on the posts was eye level for me when I stood I was stood on the top row and it obstructed my view several times, having said that maybe that’s more to do with me being vertically challenged than the stand itself. The wind yesterday was bad and even under the stand there was no protection from it. Are the big gaps at the top of the stands going to be used for advertising boards, or are they planning on keeping them open as it just looks stupid. I presume there will be advertising boards around the side of the pitch too. One things for sure though I hope the players aren’t to sensitive this season as when we are getting stuffed at home they can here everything that’s going to be shouted.

| The advertising boards will appear, we'll be getting those electronic ones, same as everyone else in SL.
The terracing is very shallow, which with it not being the biggest terrace in the world (it's only 22 steps in total) means the view isn't great. There's not that much of a difference between the bottom and the top. Warrington's is steeper (from memory) so even only going as far back as you would in ours the view would be better.

| For the 18's - 20's game at Christmas I was sat half way up the west stand (Just in front of the barriers in there). This is where my season ticket seat is and it was a good view of the game.
On Saturday I started off in the South stand just to the side of the posts and as far back as could go and the view was pretty poor to be honest. As others have said the posts crossbar blocked much of the action on the 30m line in the middle of the ground, which with the game was most of it in the first half with Leigh attacking.
Moved to the far left of the stand for the second half at the same height and this gave a better view of the closer area but still a little too low down for my liking.
Guess this is the beauty of having the option to try different seats and places out.
I think I will be sticking with the West stand for the time being unless the atmosphere does pick up in the south stand, then I might re-consider.
For the rest of the place, got caught in the traffic on Liverpool Road like others so ended up parking on Gorton Street and walking over, which was rather painless so one I may employ in future.
The staff and security are very friendly and helpful which is a pleasant surprise. Had food both times and been warm (although the Potato, Cheese and onion pie is one to give a miss IMO).
Pitch is massive and watching on Saturday something Leigh used against us very effectively as we bunched up and they went outside a number of times.
Find the dugout situation an odd one. With Fans being able to walk right past the players and coaching staff during a match, sure that must be looked at.
The backs need filling in to make it look better and to allow the ladies to pee in peace without audience.
The sponsors going up should give it a bit more or a “Lived in” feel which I think is lacking. Not too fussed about the scoreboard, it does what it is supposed to do, show the score and if the clock was working, give the time left in the game also.
Another thing that has struck me, I am guessing the cameras for TV games will be from the west stand but I can’t see many fans using the east stand when open. Surely this is not going to project a great image on the crowds at the game?
I am also really keen to see what it is like up in the Boxes and the hospitality lounge. If anyone can get me up there, will get you a pint

| Went to the Academy Game on the 27th but this was the 1st official fixture .
Parking it will be bedlam come Jan 24th with Wigan ifParking pretty much rammed for Leigh with a little over 2,800 attending.
Peel Green roundabout will be a bottleneck and any fans parking in Peel green area will have to run the gauntlet of the M60 sliproads in the dark so will have to be pretty nimble.
I've plumped for seats in the west stand for my season ticket but as I haven't pre booked paid cash at the South Stand window , which went without fault and the turnstyle staff and G4S guys were fine .
I stood at the east side of the sticks on the terraces but couldn't be at the back due to it being taped off , view very much like Willows end terracing . Only found out why after the game . should name it the Chuck Berry South Stand ...
As for the game, well that been discussed in detail elsewhere how rubbish we were but was impressed with Leigh's play and determination , especially considering they are coachless.
Reading the match program I figured out why we didn't look like we'd seen a rugby ball reading page 6 of this biblical tomb which proclaimed Pg 6 - Crewe Alexander FC Match Program , Also the mysterious New signings Leww Jewitt & Jordan Hames , honestly it was only 8 pages long For £1 , you'd get someone to proof read it ?
considering the ' half built'feel of the south / I guess North end terraces and restricted view maybe the Stadium co should consider a reduced admission fee for the terraces .
also pre booking on Ticketline gives you no option to choose which row ( online ) seats you can have, only block which needs addressing .

| Hello chaps, what was the attendance out of interest?
Look forward to visiting next year. And don't worry about the friendly result, Saints lose plenty of friendlies every year - the coaches and players will learn more from that "performance" than they would have from a 40-0 win.
