Quote: Dantes Inferno "You summise that i have a vendetta against JW. Lets get one thing straight, the programmethrower hit the nail on the head. I have not once been critical of JW as a person, in fact i share the same view as 99.9% of people who come into contact with the chairman. He's a diamond of a bloke.

I am just questioning his proffessionalism, his ambition, his judgement and the reign of his 29 year tenure, and its pretty abismal reading, so tell me why having that view is a crime, i get thrown to the lions and accused of having a vendetta, having no interest in the club, If you read my posts you would realise that i am showing a passion for my club purely by relaying my views which is very hard hearing for the blinkered lot.'"

In my post I said that you were giving people the impression that you had a personal vendetta against the Chairman, it is still my view that you have irrespective of what you feel.

Only today I was speaking to a very long standing Salford fan and he asked -

Do you go on the Scarlet Turkey? Yes I replied

Have you read some of the posts from Dantes Inferno and the others? Yes I replied.

How can Dantes Inferno class himself as a Salford Supporter with his regular insults levelled at all and sundry connected with the club? He shoudn't but he does I replied.

The chairmans record at the club and elsewhere within the city and suburbs in the last 29 years makes better reading than some of your posts.

So nobody can say a wrong word about the chairman without you saying they are not supporters?what utter drivel.

If there was a university course in drivel you could get a first class degree in it.

I know plenty of people who question Glazers involvement at United who are not United supporters to my mind as they never pay to watch them.

And it was a long standing Salford fan not a mate who was asking pertinent questions about some posters on this forum.

To answer: yes you can criticise so long as you remain withoin the normal bounds of manners and be positive.
Otherwise it is just carping, can be slanderous and libellous, and does not identify your stance as anything but negative moaning.

Nothing in your threee posters' comments here fit the first. There are some very hurtful personal remarks aimed at the chairman and his staff. You seem to delight in puerile and scornful deprecation of the people whose efforts and, so often, financial generosity have allowed you to supprt Salford and not bemoaned that the club has gone the way of Broughton or Runcorn or Blackpool or Huyton or Liverpool or ... so many.

But when you are pulled up and comments are made at you: the spite and anger is palpable.
You can dish it out but not take it.

Iain/Sheddy/Chico/LoyalFan/king of th shed lock this dreadful thread.

The post regarding the thread being closed, why? People are debating the qualities and manageability of the chairmen?!?! Maybe people are starting to realise that by saying he's putting the money in, is merely papering over the cracks of the ability of our senior officials. It's a healthy debate it appears the diehard Wilky through and through people are not taking kindly to it. We all know JW is a good guy but I'm seriously struggling to see how people can defend his management of the club, it gone on for years and now it’s coming to the forefront people don't like it. Put it this way if he was to hand over the reins tomorrow what will Wilkinson’s legacy be? Well he kept the club going for all those years.... Got them the new stadium....

be positive : please.
You could use your mate mitie mouse

Sorry to disagree as this is not a debate but posturing. You have not proposed anything but "sack", "resign", and "cut".
... oh!...You're Osbourne and I claim my £5.

Mitie : learn English. Allowed as in "kept the club alive so we could continue to supprt it" : sheesh! I have never seen border guards or entrance exams at any Rugby League ground. icon_eek.gif

Some people just don't get it or are too tied up with their own agenda's to see it, Salford RLFC would not be here now if JW and some board members had not stumped up the cash. Too many Salford fans think that £180 for a season will offer then the best players and team in the country, well it won't, do the maths and see.

2000 ST paying 180 = £360,000
Another 1200 paying on average £20 a game = 1200 x 20 x 13 = £312,000

add in tv money of £1,000,000 and what do we get

£1,672,000

Some fans do put in extra like my self been in the lifeline draw since 1978 and won £95 all together for an out lay of £102 per year.

half time draw and lifeline I would reckon bring in £75,000

so lets throw that in the pot
£1,747,000
than there is sponorship about £200,000 a year

£1,947,000

and for good measure Hospitality

13 games 200 people £30 a head £78,000

total £2,025,000

Now to play at full cap we need a turnover of £4,000,000
and i would reckon for the half cap £3,000,000

so who do you think puts in the shortfall to keep the club on the field and in Business?
