| You know when one of those coaches comes around and completely changes a culture of a club from players all the way to the top men, i think MP could be one of those.

| Quote: Talent Spotter "Another valid question ignored by Fatboys Limb. What a surprise.
Didn't ignore it, just hadn't read it. Spent my post-match celebration at Hope Hospital with my 2yr old son and have slept when he's slept over the last 24 hours (hence the bizarre times I've been posting on here). Hope that's alright with you? Can I suggest in future that, if there's a really important question that you desperately want me to answer, you PM it to me ..... although that would remove your chance to take cheap shots in public behind an internet alias.
As you seem so keen for an answer, yes, I'd be more than happy for the club to release Simms if Parish could do his job to the same standard (or higher) whilst performing to the best of his ability as Head Coach.
I would have the same opinion about any two employees at the club.
My concern is whether Parish (or any other Head Coach) could do such a role. Every SL team has someone who supports the head coach with organisational tasks. I think part of the problem may Simms' job title and the fact that he used to be a coach himself.
Perhaps a more relevant question for Parish to answer is whether Simms is the right person to work with him, or whether someone else (from inside or outside the club) could do it better.

Amazingly you managed around 10 other posts on different threads since the question was posted, but managed to miss this one? You seem to be happy to make sarcastic comments at people who would like to see changes at the club, but when a question is posted in reply you 'don't see it' until it is brought back upto the top of the page by someone else.

| "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the way this club will move forward is by everyone uniting; board, players, coaching staff, backroom staff and fans. No blame culture, no finger pointing and no excuses – let’s just work hard together do what we can to move forward today, and what we can’t do today, let’s plan to do that tomorrow."
Inspirational quote again by Matt if his team talks are half as good the boys will run threw walls on a regular basis

(a) you clearly can't count to 10
(b) this thread has several pages and I hadn't read the entire thing. I read the page with your post on but not the original question. Yours jumped out at me as it contained my username.
(c) the person who posted the original question didn't direct it at me specifically
(d) the person who posted the original question hasn't taken offence at me not answering his question
(e) I would like to see changes at the club too. Put the dummy back in, read the rest of my posts and you might realise that.
(f) sarcasm isn't illegal and, in most cases, isn't even offensive
(g) I am a hugely sarcastic person but I take as much as I give. If you don't like it, don't read my posts.
(h) I don't actually think that many (any?) of my recent posts have been that sarcastic.
(h) this is a public forum where anyone can (within the AUP) express their views. That includes me.
(i) if you have some kind of problem with me, deal with it via PM.

| [iThe title of this thread isWill Matt be here at the end of next season
I was talking with our new coach on Saturday night and he tells me he's happy at the Reds and is looking forward to the future.
And after speaking with the man I am really confident Matt is the right man for the job, he's full of confidence and he certainly knows what he wants and also he's fully aware of whats needed.
He also said he was amazed by our fans and that was clear to see last Friday night after the game against Huddersfield Giants.
ROLL ON BARTON..[/i

| Surprised no-one has mention the lenght that MP was in the club for after the game the other night. I for one didn't speak to him personally but from what I saw he was deep in conversation with fans while also holding a fine of carlsberg's finest... if carlsberg did coaches..... On a serious note I think it was refreshing that he took time out to come an interact with the fans although it may have only been for 45 minutes or what ever it was it's small touches like that, that keep fans happy and to hear his opinions from the horses mouth and not from the press twisting his words! Must stop now to prevent it sounding like a MP love fest

| Quote: GT "And so you're happy to dismiss any genuine concerns about the running of the club as meaningless, pointless rambling just because we're not winning?'"
Not quite, I just think the genuine concerns on here get lost in the deluge of supportive abuse, because we're not winning.
I understand the club offer fans an open forum in which to raise questions and ideas (and cash) directly. I've never been along, probably never will, but surely that's a better environment to affect/discuss change with people who may be able to explain why things are done in a certain way? The greatest reward you'll achieve on here for a raising a poignant issue is 2/3 people telling you who's fault it all is and how quickly they need to be sacked.
Quote: GT "I remember a thread quite a few months ago where one of the club 'loyalists', can't remember who, had a go at people for out and out ranting (which is fair enough to be honest) and bracketing anyone else with genuine concerns in the same bubble. I posted a fair response with some genuine concerns, no ranting involved and admitting I wouldn't know the solution. Strangely enough it got ignored...'"
I've never tried to appoint myself as any kind of loyalist to the club. I just say it like I see it - a bunch of hard-working people doing their best in a blatantly difficult environment. I don't claim to know much about the running of a pro sports club, but I'm confident 99% of the club's detractors are equally clueless.
Quote: GT "That's one of the biggest problems the club has got. There are far too many who are happy to slag the club off at every opportunity and, in turn, too many people happy to blindly defend everything that happens and dismiss those with genuine concerns as the same as the previous mentioned group.'"
I think it's misleading to suggest this forum represents 3 or 4 thousand people. It's clear that a handful of posters here have an agenda or two against certain individuals at the club. There's also a few hilariously fickle members who'll happily get caught up in whatever gets said the loudest, be it good or bad vibes.
I've always had a habit of swimming against the tide or playing Devil's advocate, so you can write-off my retorts as 'arguing for argument sake' if you like (I'm also a t!t, apparently). I'd imagine you're not left with many sincere, genuine contributors. Sadly.

That was a long time ago, I went to one and only two of us turned up (the other vanished to Australia a long time ago) they don't have them any more because of that reason I believe. Not that I agree as even if one person turns up with a concern / query then that's as good as 1000 in my mind. However it'd be nice to get the decision makers down to a Forever Reds meeting at some point soon to discuss things, I'm sure it'd be better attended, and by that I mean all of them, from the Chairman, directors, Chief Exec and everyone one involved, that way if anyone has a direct question / complaint it can be discussed in the open rather than the cloak and dagger sniping stuff by both the fans and the club.

In which case, I agree a presense at the FR meetings (which I've confused with the fans forum) could be a far more valuable hub of discussion than an unnofficial internet forum.

Perhaps. The problem with physical fans forums (i.e. those that exist in the real world) is that people need to turn up in person. Few do. 20... 30... 50 people if you're lucky. Whereas this forum has 30x that reach. And of those, you're getting club staff, players and even directors reading it regularly — as encouraging or harrowing as that may seem.
Forever Reds and ourselves have spoke with the club in the past about the possibility of setting up an account or another type of conduit to engage supporters who contribute to, or at least read, this forum. Maybe it's an idea worth revisiting.
