| If its confirmed its a good signing for me, yes he has had his troubles but we have had other players who have "sinned" in a previous life we have had drunk drivers and ex junkies who when wearing the shirt have given 100% and been committed to the cause so you have to give him a chance to perform @ his best before judging him.
As for jezza since his move to hooker he has improved ten fold in attack, we as an attacking unit imo certainly have a bit of zip when he is on the field, it would be interesting to see how many tries we have scored while he was on the field compared to when he wasnt the only problem he thinks he is a enforcer, running around niggling in the tackle, he isnt very good @ it its always been in his game and @ hooker he gets away with more than he did at SO but he gets stung with silly penalty after silly penalty thats why unfortunatly imo his contract wont be renewed.

| If this is true I'm a little bit underwhelmed. The club keep saying they are going to make signings that will make people stand up and take notice, so hopefully he's the back-up and we're also going to sign Robbie Farah. Lol.
Once I've stopped dreaming then maybe he'll prove quite a useful acquisition. I would still be expecting some extra grunt in the forwards and pace out wide tough.

| Will Leo Latu take up a place on the quota? I'd rather have jezza at hooker than him myself if we could make him cut out the penalties.

He hasn't been at his absolute best recently but Wakey seem to have been struggling as a whole lately on and off the pitch.
I think he will offer an extra dimminsion in attack because he has good hands and makes good metres with plenty tackle busts and offloads. The hooker role has changed so much over recent years and the old fashioned type hooker like Malc are a thing of the past in the modern game. So many of the attacking options come via the hooker position these days as it takes pressure off the half backs to create everything and it gives the opposition another problem to worry about. Leo-Latu hasn't got a big workrate in defence but I've questioned before if 1 or 2 should be making most of the tackles rather than sharing the work throughout the pack. (Especially considering we usually have 3 or 4 forwards coming off the bench interchanging all the time)

I am sure he's a Kolpak player and doesn't count on the quota. I noticed he's played 3 times for Tonga despite representing New Zealand at International level.

Now I would not disagree with you that going forward he's an improvement on Malc, I firmly believe me Malc stopped improving as a player once Harrison and Lowes left. My point was that the club are making noises about the players we are going to sign being of the highest standard, with Lea-Latu we are hardly getting a big name hooker and Wakey have had their fair share of pastings the season also.
On the flip side, with Anderson and Wild, possibly, joining the club next year we could have some good attacking options running off him and the half backs. Add to that Big Ray, Sidlow and hopefully Carl Webb. We'll have a forward pack that should be scaring the opposition.
Always rated Anderson, puts in big hits, is fast and knows his way to the try line.

Has anyone heard anymore on this front with both Wild and Aspinall rumoured to be ready to sign or already have? These would be two names I'd be very happy to see at Salford

| Manchester Evening News today says its likely to be either Kane Bentley or Leo-Latu that will replace Malcolm Alker.

Hopefully Bentley, only 23 opposed to Leo-Latus 29 also a much more solid player.

Or both? Most clubs utilise two hookers in the modern era.

As a Wakey fan I like Latu, but covering at stand off

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

Good point mate.
Judging by your posts, they must be at least 15 years older than you.

So you are saying they are not from "dads army"???????????? They are,of course they are. Past it the pair of them. Typical salford signings. If Vinnie could still do it do you really think Tony Smith would let him leave? Of course he wouldn't.
