| I can't believe how people have Such short memories. Those two brothers did their upmost to keep everyone informed during the bad times and it would have been a bad time without them. Media manager means just that ,dealing with the media, not sitting on his backside all day to answer texts from fans. I for one thought they did a great job during the bad patch and now they can only report things of which they know and are allowed to disclose. Good luck to Steve and his wife on their new venture and to Paul,keep the news coming.

| As someone on the outside looking in, lack of reporting due to disclosure does not mean that something new can't be put up on a regular basis. Sometimes it's literally weeks before things are updated. The irony is that social media and websites are not labour intensive operations. They can be done remotely, and in this day and age it's almost criminal that the Club have fallen so far behind in this regard.
Take a look at this very simple web site -

An amateur Club way away from the heartlands of RL. It may not be snazzy but it has features that Salford have never but should have.
It's updated regularly.
They have up to date stats.
They sell merchandise online.
They provide matchday programmes as PDF files for you to browse online at home.
They have a regularly updated Facebook and Twitter page.
Now if a small amateur Club can manage it why can't Salford?

I'm sorry but that's utter rubbish. There is always news to report with a professional sports club, it really isnt hard. If you're close friends with Paul our "media manager" here's a few tips you want to throw his way;
1. Regular updates of the clubs website, facebook and twitter pages.
2. Updates can include anything from insight on training sessions, team days out, regular interviews with various management/playing staff (has anybody heard an interview from Stuart Donlan and/or Andy Hay since they joined the club) theres over 30 staff who could be interviewed over the course of the season and it only takes 5 mins to ask some questions, birthday mentions to said management/playing staff, quiz questions, competitions (share or retweet to win) etc.
3. Highlights from all games, not just the ones we win. These are put on youtube by Super League weekly and could easily be transferred onto our official site with links posted on facebook and twitter.
It's so simple, yet were so bad at doing it.

Fact is that there isn't enough being done to spread the word about our club. I mean you can update facebook anytime even my mobile phone so there's no excuse for the lack of info. They only post videos of wins and the rest of the time the club website has the same material on it for weeks.
Their only there because there farther was good friends with wilkinson there not there on merit, we need a big clear out of all the staff who are there on the back of knowing a friend of a friend who grooms John wilkinson's cat. We need people who are vastly experienced in their job and have made a good name for themselves through positive feedback at previous jobs, I'm sure that when our CEO realises how usless the other brother is then he'll be down the job centre soon enough.

Hang on,this is far too personal.
I don't know the guys ,and improvements / changes are needed ,but nobody deserves this treatment.
We are talking about people's livelihoods .

| Hang on a minute.
Things are quiet now, but the social networking issue has been pushed hard in the past, and people whinged they were too focused on this area.
The match day centre is an excellent application, and since I spend a fair amount of time working overseas and weekends it is certainly appreciated. Added, they did the five minute highlight and player focus videos over the last couple of seasons.
And finally, has anyone thought the social networking has gone quiet because they're busy getting ready for the rebranding launch?
Granted they are not perfect, but they are not as bad as some on here are making out.

| I'm sorry I dont buy into that at all, regardless of the impending rebranding that is not an excuse to go quiet on aspects of social media. The truth is it's lazy and unprofessional and they are as bad as some people make out on here.

Most "media and marketing" managers also make sure websites, social media and so on are updated so that people are kept informed of what's going on. It ain't rocket science, even local non-league football clubs can manage it. A lot of good was done earlier in the year, despite them insisting supporters had to make the effort to register on FB and Twitter to get any news, but the recent poor form in updating anything or in any communications cannot be defended.
And just for balance, personal attacks against the pair are as bad as close friends blindly defending them. Objective views are lot more helpful.
