Have said God knows how many times that's a great tool for the club to employ, pick up at the Quays and Eccles on match days and then there's the potential to use the car park as a park and ride generating money on a daily basis.
Pretty certain at some point the Doc if he gets his stake in the club will look at that as there's a high income for very little outlay to be made.

| Quote: Michigan red "Are these extra delays down to the gas mains work near the roundabout?
Maybe if it's that bad the club should say something about the delays on the website so people can maybe set off a little early.
I have to leave from Wardley @ 7 in a cab so hope that there isn't to much of a delay.'"
Barton Lane is closed because they're doing work on the sewage system so all the traffic is being diverted down Liverpool road. Add to that the gas works near the roundabout as you say and its carnage.

I live in Peel Green and the traffic down Liverpool from Eccles has been a disgrace for the last 2 weeks. I've had to walk from Eccles to my house (behind the Unicorn) everyday. The traffic from Eccles is just a standstill and will only get worse on match day. I can't see anyone wanting to sit in it, hardcore fans might even give up never mind any newbies, which is a massive shame!'"
Have you not considered the matchday ferry service?

| How good was it to see so many people at the game, the atmosphere was so much better and considering the issues with the roadworks outside it was encouraging to see the turn out.
Though to true to form the players hot themselves in the foot by making such a spectacle of the first half but a spectacle of themselves in the second half.

| Pleasing to hear people say "Dad how good is this season", "I know son, I didn't think it would be like this".

| There were quite a few people in the South stand who I've not seen at games this year who were not there on free tickets. There was a large group in fancy dress too which some wag took advantage of when the Doc walked past so I'd expect plenty of pictures of them all to surface.
The atmosphere was very much like the old shed last night and so much better for all the efforts put in by the club.

| With the injury to Chris Nero last night I got to thinking that he would hopefully have received the best of hospital treatment.
Following on from that should the club make the televised Monday night game v. Wakefield - 10th June 7.45pm kick off a '999 Night' ? ( It ain't an ideal time for young'uns )
Tickets to the hospitals for doctors and nurses, police and Fire and Rescue personnel.
If it goes well, and I pinch the idea from Leigh and elsewhere,a 999 booklet could be sold for next season which enables the purchaser to possess 9 vouchers and allows them to select any 9 games they can attend - shifts and working commitments permitting- allows them 9% off purchase price of merchandise - I think season ticket holders get 10 or 15% off - and 9 friends for free over the 9 games.
The vouchers have to be exchanged for match tickets in advance.
If/when the fixtures reduce in number this idea may have to be stopped/amended.
I think 2014 is to remain at 13 home games but I may be wrong.
Salford Royal Hospital is a training venue and must have large numbers passing through it's doors.

I agree about the atmosphere. It was good. This is a positive post and makes me wonder why your other post was, like so many others, rather negative about the second half. It was disappointing, but we only conceded 10 points while in the first half we conceded 18. Our lack of a cutting edge in attack meant that we never looked like scoring, but our defence wasn't too bad, apart from a few individual errors, which we hope will be coached out of the players soon.

| I thought putting the poor performance aside friday night had a real buzz about it. Bringing families and children in the stadium has to be the future.
The work off field Koukash is putting in is working. Just need to get the playing side sorted. I can see a full stadium being a reality next year (at least for one game!).

| I must have missed the buzz and great atmosphere. Around us there was a mostly resigned sense of "here we go again."

Have to agree. Didn't seem much difference from usual, although there did seem a bit more of a buzz outside the ground/in the fans bar due to there being more people than usual. It didn't seem to transfer into the ground though, probably because of how the game went.

It was felt more in the East Stand, certainly.
