| Quote: Iain "Does Warrington taking Huddersfield apart suggest that we're not that dreadful after all? At least we weren't on our own turf last week.'"
[iThe Huddersfield Giants players simply gave up this afternoon after about 25 minutes and when you see any group of players do this there can only be one end result.
At least last week up at Murrayfield our boys did try and keep going to the end sadly today the Giants did not and fully got what they deserved a bloody good smacking.

| Quote: BartonFlyer "Certainly puts it into a bit of perspective
If Wire had got their kicks today it would have been 72 - 4, so maybe 68 - 16 wasn't quite so bad after all !!!!
And I didn't hear the Hudds fans singing sloop John B!! No sense of fun
Hate to say it, but Warrington are pretty impressive at the moment'"
SMITH REVEALS WARRINGTON INSPIRATION
[iWarrington Wolves head-coach Tony Smith revealed that a visit from a wounded soldier provided the inspiration for his side's emphatic 60-4 Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth-round win over Huddersfield today.
Corporal Simon Brown, who suffered horrific facial injuries in the conflict in Afghanistan, gave a speech to the Wolves players during their preparations for the latest defence of their trophy.
"He came to speak to us in the week and I'd like to thank him for the inspiration he gave us," said Smith.
"It helped keep us grounded. He's lost sight in one eye and most of the sight in the other eye and, when you hear those sort of stories, it really comes home to roost.
"I'm not saying it was all down to Simon Brown but it was worthwhile. From that, the players had to go out and they did perform."

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

| I think the Wire/Shudds results shows two things;
- Wire are better than we'd given them credit for (so perhaps we're not as bad as we thought?)
- Hudds aren't as good as some people thought (so perhaps our win against them wasn't that impressive?)

Both of these things. IMO.

| Warrington are a real force this season and have quality all over the team, you just cant afford to turn over the ball / conceed silly penalities in dangerous areas because they will punish you.
Which is what happened in Scotland to us.

Nor did karl H .....he was given 3 year contract, that I guess is still being paid...how further on are we ? we have to rely on loans from other clubs......move him sideways I say, just like Souths.....put Alan Hunte in charge

| Because you have bought your way to the success you have got and continue to buy (Brett Hodgson!). No-one can deny that wire have signed an awful lot of high profile players who will not be playing for peanuts.
Also it seems funny to me that as soon as the salary cap "went live" so to speak there have been no breaches of it. What suddenly the clubs have all cleaned up their acts and the players are accepting less money?!? If only all of the RFL's legislation was as successful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| Or it could just be that we have a calculator, pen and paper, good players and an excellent coach.
If there is anything amiss, SL will find out.

Bought our success? we're not allowed to pay anymore than salford are allowed to pay?
Likewise, is selling our supposed best player last season in gleeson, then the squad improving 'buying our way to success'
And whilst you find it funny now there's no breaches under the live cap, you'll find it hilarious to know that warrington have never broken the salary cap since its inception. The RFL usually audit us first cos we divvn't fook aboot and use us the benchmark for the rest of SL.

| Yes you are allowed to pay more than Salford since your income is more than ours and the first stipulation of the cap is a percentage of income. The ceiling of 1.2 million (I may stand corrected on that figure!) is way above the percentage that Salford are allowed to pay out because of this low income. Therefore clubs like Wire can go further in paying their players than we can which shows that Salary Cap does not do what it's ultimate objective is and that is to level the playing field somewhat.
Secondly, you signed what many would consider to be our best player from last season (Myler) after we had offered him a record contract to stay with us. How much must you be paying him if he can turn down a contract like that? (and before anyone claims he went to Wire to win things and further his international claims, do you think Mr 10% Offiah really let him accept less money to go there than we offered him?)
Thirdly, I find it funny (that's peculiar not ha ha) that there have been no breaches of the cap since going live from all clubs particularly the habitual offenders of Wigan, Saints and Bradford. Are we really so naive to believe that this is true. I've obviously touched a nerve with my tongue in cheek comment (look at the winks that appear on my original post!!!).
Lastly, improving your squad with big name signings is exactly buying your way to success. I wish we could do it; within the confines of the cap of course, but we can't!

Salford are allowed to spend just as much as Warrington. Our (lack of) income means that we can't. The cap being a percentage of income was scrapped a few years back.
