| Excuse me I have had a season ticket for over 32 years so I have a right if I feel that somethings not right to say what I think if you don't like tough go home to mummy and cry. I am completely fed up with way club treats its fans and am in support of some mates that were stewards for 20 years that got sacked why should I put any more money into a club that talks crap and treat you like they dont give a p.s don't forget your dummy

| I'm quite comfortable with PV being the new coach. The players seem to like him, and we didn't do [itoo[/i bad under him last season. Given the addition of Long and the new conditioner too, I don't think things will be as bad as some people are expecting. However, it's wholesale changes from the top down that are ultimately needed, so I don't think it'd make much difference whoever we had in charge. Regardless of coach, we'd still have the same budget for players, and it's always the players that make "typical Salford" schoolboy errors, not the coach.
As for getting bums on seats, we could have done better than PV, and indeed some of our signings. It's a winning team though that'd be the best way to increase attendances.
At the end of the day, all we can do now is get behind the club and hope for the best.

He's familiar with how the Club is run.
He's already built relationships with his players.
He's aware of what is required to improve the team.
The players respect and like him.
He's aware of budgets.
He's aware of the constraints in place.
He's unlikely to run away at the first sign of adversity.
He understands and has experience of SL.
The team does not have the worry of wholesale changes that are not based on knowledge.
He's aware of the reality of coaching Salford.
etc etc
I didn't say he would be a good choice, just that he wouldn't be the worst choice. I respect the fact that you are an expert at spotting/writing drivel when it's written so I'll refrain from further comment.'"
And he is probably a lot cheaper than any Aussie coach or top class English one.Funny how a few months ago he wasn't considered worthy of head coach but now he is.Maybe the board would have done better had it openly said money is tight. Good luck to Vievers any way he was a decent guy when Swinton had him as coach a few yeras ago.

| Feel for Veivers really as he must have broad shoulders to be overlooked as not the right man for the club, to then be the man they want. He is the cheap option as far as Salford are concerned, with no doubt no replacement in numbers in the coaching department ie saving on what they would have paid Parish.
Wilky has reverted to type with this appointment and no doubt by the end of it Veivers coaching career will be over/ruined.
For me an uninspiring appointment but I wish him well.

| MM I'd hope that Phil will employ another assistant coach to replace himself in the new set up, preferablely a defensive coach. Be interested to see what they do next whether they employ another assistant or sign another player or 2
Personally I feel another assistant would be a better investment.

| Another prop is needed definitely. Aside from that, I don't think we're a million miles away from having a decent first team. Not great strength in depth though.
A defensive coach would be a good catch too, we seemed to leak a lot of points under Phil last season.

| Aye I can't really think of anyone off the top of my head. Time's running out a bit now to be snapping up new players/coaches, the vast majority will be contracted to other clubs. Any recently retired forwards?

| Is it me or is a pattern emerging? Being those that attack the club require serious lesson's in grammar & punctuation ?
Quote: Early Bath "Quote: Early Bath "So that makes him best coach in super league does it. The club again come out with same tripe every year we have best coaching set up in the league if so why don't we win out club talks crap'"
Quote: Early Bath "The do gooders is insulting to me because they are the naive put up and shut up brigade who think JW is above critisism, whom chant his name as though hes the saviour. But truth be known he is the cause of this sinking ship.Nevermind giving this board support they/he has had 30 years to sort this pile of 5hite out we only want to be competative ffs.'" '"
Anyway, besides being mentally exhausted from reading that mush, can the people on here show me the proof and fact's they have to back up there claims he's a "yes man" ?
Are they comparing him to MP, in the sense that just because Phil didn't come out and announce all the problems the club has he's a yes man? Have you ever thought Phil isn't blind and had idea's of changing thing's regardless, which didn't nescessarily require coming out and publically slamming the club?
I think it say's allot about PV to actually want the head coaching role considering he knew what MP didn't. Phil isn't stupid, and know's it would be coaching suicide if he was to become another yes man. Instead it appears he want's to make genuine changes, and the team seemed to respond to well to his approach last season.
As previously said, I genuinely believe MP came out an announced his finding's because he wanted to give himself a way out. PV on the other hand seem's to just want to get on with job in hand.
Give the man time people, and let's move forward from there.

| PV had been out of work for some time before we offered him a lifeline. If he walked away from Salford, I suspect he'd be out of work again. I couldn't see any other club in SL wanting him and not many more in in the lower leagues either. We have gone continually backwards since KH was sacked and under PV I can't see anything but more of the same.
I'd loved to be proved wrong, but facts don't lie. Cashmere - Gone, Ratchford - Gone, Parish - Gone. Replacements - Unproven or not good enough.

I'm just waiting for one of the usual suspects to say Alker. At which point I may drive my car off the top of barton bridge so it crashes on the stadium.
