Could go either way, but both squads are shadows of what they should be, so I doubt either side will be happy at who they put out on the park. Certainly a possibility of getting one over on them, but Wigan will always bring a strong game and even with youngsters in they will be tough.

Ive read somewhere that Walton is fit again think it was on twitter! Tommy Lee will replace Mullaney. I'm hoping Tomkins will still be with us as i think we'll really struggle around the ruck area without him!

A few points of note.

Did you see how much that victory took out of them?

The game against us is, wait for it... A different game!

If we applied your logic there'd be no point in turning up would there? Teams that won on the opening day would never lose. Teams at the lower end of the table never beat top table sides do they?

I remember when Salford Teams ( no matter how tripe they were ) always used to raise their game when Wigan visited. Dig deep lads ...

Sorry to be pessimistic bugger, but I can't see anything other than a win for the pies no matter who we put out. We are simply nowhere near the standard of a top 4 side.

Would love to be wrong though!

I personally think it's time we looked at bringing a couple of the youngsters back from loan or promoting from the under 19. Said it recently that I saw a kid on the wings for the 19's who's pace was frightening, okay he might not be the finished article but can he be more of a liability than Meli is defensively? and surely Ford has too be worth a shout ahead of Gleeson who alarmingly for me looks shot.

Bringing a kid in to play outside someone who's game is pretty solid like Sa'u would be a cracking idea and you can bet your bottom Dollar that Junior would more than look after him.

I would also look to make someone else other than Chase captain for this one, I personally wouldn't look beyond HH or Hock, okay Hock can be a hot head but for me he is already the on-field leader so why not make it official.

After everything I have said previously, I have a feeling we may pull this one out of the bag.

It could go either way. Like a clock. They can go either way too, but they generally don't. We'll match them in the forwards, but they'll swing the ball out to our left hand side and... try time. Shaun Wane is too smart not to have noticed our defensive weakness out there.

Our kids have done really well in the last few games but it's a huge ask for them to back it up week after week. Our focus will be on the cup QF now and Wane will use the next to games to build to that. For that reason I think you will have a decent shot on Thursday. It does look as though you are missing a fe was well though.

We all know what will happen on Thursday. Saturday was the most frustrated i have ever been as a 25 year Salford fan. Unless a change of tactics is forthcoming we will be diiiked again by a medium strength Wigan side. Lets hope for a change of tactics eh?

So we take our no tackling left winger and play him at right centre? With a player who ain't played all year? And don't play Gleeson who made 21 tackles v widnes??? Wtf

I'd move Meli to centre and put Evalds on wing, Tomkins to scrum half with Owen at hooker. So my makeshift squad would be

Lets be realistic. There will only be one winner on Thursday and that`ll be Wigan. I hope I`m wrong but cant see it. There kids are better than our kids and a lot of the `old timers` we have been playing. Meli and Morley have had there day I`m afraid. We have to be quicker at the play the ball and get some urgency back. The game against Widnes saw the clock run down as we couldn't be bothered trying to set a scrum and around the play the ball, again there is no urgency or speed. Some fans have been slating Hock, but at least he has passion and has been by far our best player. If we are going to win on Thursday then we have got to at least go for the 40/20 and little chips over, just something different will do. Anyway I`ll be there but my patience is wearing a little thin!. People have referred to the relegation word...if we don't start winning then we will be relegated, make no mistake about it .

I’d like to know who has been slating Hock? Everyone I have spoken to has nothing, but praise for him and rightly so he’s been immense so far this year.

And as for the title of this thread, I really don't think we can complain too much when you take into account the players Wigan have missing for Thursday.
