| no change then , we've been bottom end of the league last two seasons with our supposed ' quality signings.
actually I'm more comfortable with 'just signings' and someone bringing them in who might have a plan of how to use them. eg build a team that is more than the sum of its parts.

Yes I'd much prefer us to over achieve than under achieve . Hopefully next year there will a lot less drama off the field and players with more ambition who are fully committed to the cause. It's time to start building solid foundations for the future and investing more time and finances in developing young players. The long term plan should be transforming the youth setup and then adding a couple of worldies if Marwan still has the appetite.

| Just read a report that Semi Radradra from the Eels is being chased by Japanese RU clubs for $900,000 (Australian) per season, awful lot of money but the perfect marquee signing as he would get so many tries.

I think any true marquee signing would be in receipt of a salary of around £500,000–£1,000,000 a year anyway. Sam Burgess, Jonathan Thurston etc.

Burgess is only going to happen in the Docs dreams, Thurston I don't know but it would be a dream signing as he is the epitomy of the type of player the club needs.
Semi Radradra though would be immense, no trouble off the field and just a try scoring machine. A million Aus is roughly £450,000 so it would kind of work out. Never going to happen but God how good would that be,
On a different tack just seen the feeds about BMM and they all show a picture of him with Sheens, right there is why he is the most important signing the club could possibly make.

| I would very much doubt many Clubs would blow a marquee spot on a winger. It doesn't really matter how good they are if they don't see the ball. Marquee players will be spine players. FB, HB's, or Hookers. With a smattering of class forwards.

| Radradra wouldn't score many more tries than BJB has this season, because he wouldn't get anywhere near as much of the ball as he gets at the Eels. It doesn't sound promising that we're going to sign any decent centres in the off-season either and I suspect Joel Monaghan may end up taking one of those spots.

I said that of last season when most only mentioned the hooking role, the centres we had were ok for back-up but we needed some real quality, if we bring no-one in next season will be much the same.
As for Radradra that has to be a joke at Salford, a winger on massive bucks never to see the ball deary me.

| Surely we must have more signings up our sleeve other than the names we have seen mentioned... even following the Kopczak / Masila signings our pack needs strengthening massively the likes of x2 Walnes / Foster / Menzies / G Griffin / Krasniqi are simply nowhere near good enough club with top half ambitions. Hooker is another area which needs addressing and I don't mean by signing Logan Tomkins permanently, I would however be happy to play Tommy Lee at 13 next season though he's no world beater but does a decent enough job and gets through some hard work.
And hopefully Sheens will be head coach – Ian Watson is not the answer each coach we seem to employ has less experience than the other.
It's going to be an interesting to see who we sign.. I guess only time will tell.

Agree even with Kopczak and Masila we still look to be lacking experience and depth in the pack. Flanagan at Saints has been mentioned but I personally think we will need a couple of better quality forwards at the very least. We just simply aren't strong enough to lose 6 regular forwards and replace only three of them. If you include Hock and Puletua we are even more numbers down on the start of this year.
Let's see what Friday brings.

| Don't forget that last season we bought very late into the off season with Paterson, also got the feeling that they might have unearthed a player or two from the lower divisions.

| Whats happening with Darrell Griffin. Not sure but i think he has 12 months left on his contract.Surely he would be worth keeping given our lack of forwards and experience

How can you be so sure? I think there is a heck of a lot of knee jerking going on ATM, we still have plenty of time to recruit and need to remain calm. We are in the best possible hands - there is no way Sheens would over look strengthening centre and prop position. We need to trust in the man's judgement and give him time.

Exactly DG is a good solid prop and earlier on in the season when it is more of a slog in the worse weather he for me has a big part to play. We could do with another prop but it's not bad with how we have.
D Griffin.
A Walne.
J Walne.
Carl Forster.
Ben Murdoch-Masila.
Luke Menzies.
Craig Kopczak.
