Sad to say that Wigan looked like a top team and Salford didn't. The Red Devils looked more like rabbits in the headlights. Wigan showed tremendous power and pace in almost every position and, to be honest, from the DW East stand I really only disagreed with three referee decisions while the penalty Morley gained later in the second half could easily have gone the other way. I'll watch the recording and may think otherwise, but generally that works the other way.

Wigan often changed the point of attack, which we seemed unable to deal with. While we dropped too many balls and gave away too many penalties.

With a 3 on 1 half way into the first half, with the line begging, Sau took the tackle. Unbelievable! While one of my least favourite players in rugby league, Gelling, was made to look like a world beater by weak and ineffective defence. Generally, we looked slow and lethargic against a side which had a two day shorter turn around than we did. The pack, on the whole, were dominated by the Wigan pack.

The short drop out which led to Wigan scoring involved, in my opinion, a trip on Chase, but generally, I didn't think Chase stepped up, and didn't do anything to find a chink in the brick wall which was Wigan's defensive line.

All of that meant that we gave them far too much room to play because we were too slow, or non existent moving up in defence.

Add to that two stupid scrum offences and you have a perfect recipe for being battered. Which we were!

Back to the drawing board?

And also, for the record, I was amazed that Evalds didn't go the full length. I don 't know if he was hurt beforehand, but I would never have thought he would have been caught by Charnley.

First of all, hats off to Wane. He manufactured a resounding battering. Wigan much better all over the park. His job was made easier by a woeful Salford performance. We wouldn't have beaten anyone last night with the amount of dropped ball and penalties. We had to put so much graft in early on due to this that we were always knackered on attack, lacked penetration and looked lost. Add to this the fact that we never got fifty-fifty calls and we're lucky that the score wasn't more.

The worst thing about the defeat is the fact that the momentum we've built leading up to this game will have taken a significant hit. All in front of the Sky cameras too. Casual or floating fans tuning in will be safely staying at home for the remainder of the season.

It's not the end of the world. We expected to be beaten in all fairness, it's just the manner of the loss that disheartens. After all, this Wigan side got battered by Bradford the week before. One poor performance doesn't mean we're a bad side as plenty of top sides have had batterings this season. So on reflection for us, it means little in the big scheme of things.

Forget it, onto next week.

i thought the ref gave Wigan everything last night, not saying they wouldn't of won but every 50/50 went the way of the cherry and white! Overall we was very poor and Wigan last 20 were on it there the best team in the comp. I love Sau but jesus he needs to learn how to pass that was a certain try.

Let's lay this bias of refs to bed. It's an old cliche in Rugby League that a team is facing 14 opponents and one has a whistle. A team should play as if the ref will not allow them anything.

I watched the game on telly and my wife kept commenting on our poor defence. I had to agree.

Anyway, on to next fortnight.

That full back of yours is gash, makes Mathers look like a world beater. Tackling was just awful, terrible to watch. I'd be thanking Koucash for signing Locke if I were you, otherwise you'd be in for another harsh season next year. I'd get of Tommy Lee too, he brings decent sides down to his level, Championship at best.

I've missed the mass influx of opposition fans on here, I really have.

Everyone was rubbish last night no point in pointing the finger at 1 or 2 players. Also for the record Evalds has been outstanding and Tommy lee has come on leaps and bounds!

Well Evalds was owned last night and Tommy Lee did nothing that a Championship hooker can't do, but well done with persisting with him, you'll eventually learn.

Just read the stats on super league website

www.superleague.co.uk/report/10055

They do not make for a pretty reading, rangi missed 8 tackles alone in this game. I think we'll put this down to a bad at the office and move on to Catalans.

I disagree with most of what’s being said on here. Harsh to critique Harris’ tactics when we continually knocked on, gave away penalties and generally did not complete our sets. I couldn’t even see what our tactics were because we didn’t have anywhere near enough of the ball. A very disappointing night which could and should have been very different, I hope the players are hurting because that was a disaster from them last night.

No one can blame Harris last night we were just shocking, maybe that's credit too Wigan who got in our faces. There defence was amazing just shows you if you have fire in the belly you'll get rewarded.

I watched the game last night and for me it showed a total lack of plan B, we obviously went out onto the paddock intent of out muscling Wigan and they were waiting for it.

This talk about the officials is getting a little tiring, the refs are what they are, e, sure they missed things but the more our sports speeds up the more they will miss.

SKY identified it before the game but MCB looks like he will be targeted, I just hope that in the off season the main focus of the club is too help him bulk up as he does look lightweight.

MOM for Salford by a country mile was Theo, at one point they mentioned that he had made 30+ tackles as a half, brings credence to my notion that he will become a good interchange hooker, good tackler and elusive scooting runs from the dummy half.

Much as he is the player I like too watch most in the current team Sa'u needs the bollocking of a life time for developing Littleresque sticky hands, it might have made the difference to level the scores up in the lead up too half time.

Also we the Red Devils, therefore when there is no shirt clash we should play in our traditional colour of red, I think it is a brilliant idea to have the 2nd jersey in the Docs racing colours but that should not mean we wear them except when the opposition jersey dictates.

I said this last night about Theo he will be our interchange hooker next year that i'm pretty confident about. I think Lee will be our main hooker unless we've still got room in the cap for a big signing hooker.

Last nights performance has undone a lot a good work over the past few weeks. Taking nothing away from the wounded animal of Wigan we were awful and progressively got worse during the match. I think it shows that we are some distance away from competing against an extra motivated top side that turn up really hungry. It seemed to me that the confidence and belief drained from our players when we went 10 points behind.

I also felt the game highlighted that some of our senior players were found wanting and unable to backup the intensity of last week’s performance despite a full 7 day break. I think this will have highlighted to Harris that he needs a couple of younger and hungrier reinforcements going forward. (Players that are consistant and can be relied upon week after week against tough opposition)

I think it’s unlikely we have any chance of a play-off spot now but I think it’s extremely important we get back on the horse and finish the year on a positive with as many wins as possible. The club desperately needs to finish the year with some momentum rather than switching off and losing focus.

I remember thinking when I saw Morley come on and get dragged around like a rag doll that this will help him make his mind up to call it a day at the end of the day, I just hope the rumours of Dudson coming are true and that we can do what Wigan have done over the past few seasons and bought in some very young front rowers.
