| Was mightily impressed with the team work on show last night, when you think who is left to come back in and potentially be brought in (reports of Burgess coming) we have a decent squad, Johnson came in and made it tricky now to drop when Junior is 100%.
Thought O'Brien looked much better last night, still don't think he should be starting ahead of Evalds but then again Evalds got 2 well taken tries.
I saw enough from Liu to know that I'd take a player with his qualities over the occasion brilliance of Chase and then BMM he looks like a younger and less prone to brain farts Hock.
Was slightly surprised with the crowd, thought we'd see a good 1000 less than that being on Sky, it being Thursday and last weeks shambles.
The odd gripe, the beer was vile, how you can mess up something like John Smiths so monumentally is beyond me and something must be done about the buses, every man and his dog knows we will all file out 22:15 at the latest, First should put on a shuttle to Eccles, charge everyone £2, one stop in Eccles so everyone can then get a train/bus/tram onwards.

Trust me, you can say what you wish on here but friends of mine who have been going 40 years have had enough so it's not just me but you keep your blinkers on and defend this shambles of a club.
I will probably be there this season because I am a fool but I certainly won't be throwing my money away on thursday, I hope the lads win of course I do but we all know what is coming.'" All I'm saying is, you didn't attend and we thrash Saints.

well your team did set out to blow someone away ...AND YOU DID ......St Helens !!!
Time to get behind them I think. Good Luck Salford.

| I tell you what, it's still very early days for Ian Watson and could go either way, but at least he looks the part. Keiron Cunningham looks like a kid who's won a competition to be a Superleague coach for a day in his mad hat and massive headphones.

| Last night was a great TEAM performance, and we should enjoy the plaudits coming our way for the next couple of days.
But we shouldn't get carried away (we're Salford fans so I don't think we will, its not "in our DNA"icon_wink.gif. It will be no good thrashing Saints if we then slip up against Widnes next week. We've got tricky fixtures coming up in the next month - if we beat Widnes we can go into the Wigan and Warrington games with some confidence.
I expect Sheens and Watson did not panic too much after the Hull performance and assume they won't be doing cartwheels after last night. Its about building momentum and going about our business in a professional, level-headed manner.
BTW it was good to hear our coach talking with a local accent. 'One of our own' instilling a team ethic into a group of hungry young players. Who'd have thunk it?

rlthe stats speak for themselvesrl
Tries 8 - 2
Offloads 8 - 4
Metres 1429 - 884
Carries 187 - 127
the obvious highlights were Lui / Carney etc ,but take note of the stats for Adam Walne & George Griffin , 46 tackles, 34 carries, 297 metres between them .
my fear was we'd get monstered in the front row , especially with saints interchanges . quite the opposite .

| [iWell well well i don't mind eating humble pie, but this was exactly the attitude i've been awaiting for many years. For me George Griffin was immense last night followed by Lui and Masila. Also the only negatives were Joseph's flirting with errors and Josh Griffins bombing of two scoring opportunities. So from last nights result we must concentrate and maintain the attitude from last nights display and surge for a consistent run against Widnes, no doubt Attitude won us that game last night and is the key to breaking this 40 year unprecedented monkey on the back cycle of inconsistencies. Attitude sets the magnitude [/i

I recall a discussion on here just before the season started, a couple of us said we could see the big potential in George Griffin and someone else (cant remember who) wouldn't have any of it.
I think we saw a glimpse of that potential last night. He ran his absolute heart out tonight, winning the collision each and every time. Whilst he isn't physically the biggest (yet) the speed he has for a prop means he is always going to make the advantage line. I think people forget how young he is too, we should be tying him down for another 3 years.

Him and the walnes have always had the potential, but werent helped by hariss' tactics of playing dirty.

| Good point on A.Walne. Last night was his first real mature performance in a Salford shirt. No stupid penalties, just aggression and tough tackling. We've all known he has it in his game it has just never been coached out of him.
