I'm staring to lose track of which posters are ones who think that constantly rehashing a 15 month old joke is funny (probably the type of people who say hilarious things like "I'm not three bad"icon_wink.gif, and those who are just too thick to spell his name properly.

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.: |

| We do not know how good Iestyn Harris will be as Head Coach. We will have to judge him by the way in which the team performs. He may not have been the choice of a few posters but some seem to believe that Aussie assistants are the real thing and British assistants are inadequate and I don't agree with that.
I am a fan of the good doctor, but don't think that he is always right. Having said that, I can understand his frustration with the team's performances in certain games. In the Fans' Bar after both the Warrington and St Helens games we had discussions about how secure Brian Noble would feel in his job. Several people thought that we were back to the Shaun McRae style of five drives and a kick. There was lots of criticism of the one man rugby style we thought we were seeing.
I think it is in Marwan Koukash's nature to act decisively. He probably doesn't get every action right, but he is never afraid to act. I am told that he acted decisively in his early horse racing days until he was "sure" that he had got things right, and we can see how successful he has been in that sphere. This seems to be the same philosophy he has brought to Rugby League, and despite supporters of other clubs coming on here to criticise him for not understanding Rugby league, I think it is refreshing that after decades of apparent inactivity and a reluctance to make changes there is now an energy and urgency about our quest for success.

| It amazes me to here people saying we need stability to build a winning club.
Will they be the same people who criticized Wilky for being indecisive I think back to how long it took to replace the likes of John Harvey,Karl Harrison,Steve McCormack McRae etc when it was obvious for whatever reason the clubs prospects would not improve and let's not forget some of the backroom staff that stayed at the club for year after year without improving anything.
So if i'm given a choice between nice and loyal but indecisive Wilky and ruthless but decisive Marwan, it's Marwans way everytime.

I know this is like poking a hornet's nest, but, let's face it, you Salford fans don't really have a choice but to support your owner's actions, because if he was to ever walk out then you would be finished as a Super League club - Its like us Wire fans have to be eternally grateful to Simon Moran for the same reason, despite him making mistakes throughout his ownership, especially with regard to coaches.
As I've said before, I believe that if Koukash shows patience and surrounds himself with people who can rein him in a bit, then some type of success is inevitable, but if he continues to be so publicly vocal in his criticism of the side's displays and making knee-jerk decisions like sacking coaches after a few poor results, then attracting top class people to his club will become increasingly difficult.

| I don't think it was necessarily about being indecisive, more likely the expense of paying off a coach and having to pay extra to employ a new one. I presume it doesn't matter much to Koukash if he has the money to do this kind of thing.
I think your choice bezzerscr is more disguised as preferring a 'sugar daddy' owner willing to throw big bucks at it.

Fully agree.
Harris may well develop into a good coach but he's a long way off the mark at the moment, and MK isn't known for his patience.
I said earlier that it seemed to be madness and nothing I've heard or read since I posted that has changed my mind.
Salford were my outside bet for a top 8, but now they're not.

My choice has nothing to do with sugar daddies it's that I prefer people who make a decision right or wrong and act on it rather than wait and hope things change.
Really can't see the point of putting things off if you believe that changes are needed why wait until the end of the season?
What does bother me is in less than a month we have gone from fans of our club and other clubs going from we/you will win nowt with Nobby and we/you should have gone for a younger coach to we/you will do nothing without Nobby.
P s the previous post was not a dig at Wilky and only time will tell if Marwan has made a mistake.

I feel exactly the same.
As for the self-confessed Salford experts all over the forums and social media, they'll move on to the next thing as it comes along. Remember it was, shouldn't have sacked Vievers. Shouldn't have got Noble. Wont win anything under Noble. Shouldn't have sacked Noble. Shouldn't have appointed Harris. Blah blah.

What happens though if Harris and his side don't show any immediate improvement??... Does Koukash press the panic button again and fire him??
Unless Koukash has a conveyor belt of coaches willing to be sacrificed at the whim of a trigger-happy owner, then, at some point, he has to face the fact that Super League isn't some easy-to-win comp that just needs vast amounts of wealth thrown at it, accompanied by a puppet-style coach who will be wiling to take a backseat to the egotistical owner when success arrives.
The baffling thing is he has sacked a proven, experienced coach for one who is a relative novice... It would have been a lot more understandable if it was the other way around, like when Moran fired James Lowes for Tony Smith at Wire, but Harris for Noble just smacks of taking a punt simply because things haven't quite started as planned.

Not at all. Take it as me not being d bothering as any pertinent points of debate I may or may not make will not change your opinions. So why bother eh? Save everyone the bother of reading more tit-for-tat discussion on things we actually are just speculating on for the most.
