| Doesn`t surprise me at all that Parish has gone.He was only using us as a stepping stone anyway.Hes obviously been tapped up by someone in the NRL.[ Manley, cough ] Good riddance as far as I`m concerned. Its his own fault if he didnt bother checking up on the situation on this side of the pond before accepting the job, no matter how rosy a picture was painted for him. I would much rather have gone for a coach who knows the situation this club is in. [ somebody who is already based over here , or has at least played over here for a few years ] This club is crying out for a John Kear type of coach , who can lift players up quickly ,like he did at Wakey, and get us off to a flying start at Barton. Or maybe a Iestin Harris type . Even though the crusaders didnt win that many matches, they played some of the most entertaining rugby I`v seen , and given a bit more time , who knows how they would have done. There will be no shortage of applicants for this job I`m sure.

| I'm genuinely not going to take this opportunity to rub salt in the wounds out of respect for a few of my friends who are salford fans. This must be a worrying time for you supporters and I hope your club gets sorted out sooner rarther than later, the loyal fans amongst you deserve better.Lets hope the next appointment is the correct one.

| I feel totally let down by Parish!!! The man clearly didn't have the stomach for a challenge, after all.
People may sit on here criticising the board, but going off the way he embarrassed himself, regarding Ratchford/Warrington, possibly, his inability to communicate in an effective manner is what has cost him his job. He seemed to have the right ideas: getting the players together for training earlier, raising McRae's low standards and treating the fans like he cared. If he had spoke with the board, and come to a suitable arrangement, chances are matters would have been dealt with and we'd be moving forwards.
Is it time for Simms to leave the club?
It becomes increasingly difficult to support his failings.

| Ozzie $hithouse.
In Matt we all trusted but he came over spouted off and then pi$$ed off back to Oz.
Would you really want to keep a coach who did not want to stay and made this evidently clear.
FFS he was touting himself round Oz for a job on his break before he returned (late I might add)
I am annoyed with MP not the board.
They appointed him in good faith and he has decided to go.
He could obviously not take the pressure or the extra work that would be neded to get Salford out of its mess.
Draw a line under it and lets move on.

Considering he was picking up the pieces after McRae and, it's now transpired, had bugger all to play with, is that really the right yard stick to measure him by?
The whole thing's been a balls up from start to finish. The recruitment process, the apparent decision to not appoint a coach because he wouldn't be here until the autumn, the fact that Parish was told he'd have resources that we didn't actually have...
As for suggesting that last point is Parish's fault for not looking into things properly, considering some of our own supporters have swallowed the "new stadium, new coach, new bright future for Salford City Reds" mantra coming out of The Willows, can you blame a hungry young coach for believing it as well? When recruiting new staff at any level, if you're dishonest about the resources and opportunities the newly appointed person will have at their disposal then you can't complain when said new recruit speaks out about it.
Say what you will about Parish, but the whole saga is another example of the circus surrounding certain staff members at this club. Harrison sacked due to player power and apparently losing the support of someone who knows he's a friend, the entire mess that was McRae's tenure in charge of the club and now Parish becoming that fed up with the job and club that he decides to hand in his notice. Something, somewhere, needs to change. Exactly what that would be is purely down to speculation, but there's definitely a few constants involved in the processes. Rather than radio silence and a "all is well" message, we need answers, remedies and action. Quickly.

| I feel for you Guys. You and the club deserve better.
Reading though the posts some have been calling for the board to go, this is not the answer at all.
One thing I can say about John Wilkinson he is like yourselves Salford through and through.

Salford through and through isnt good enough.
He needs to be sucessful at running the club and there is no evidence of that in recent years. He doesnt have enough personal wealth to make any changes, and no one wants to take it off his hands.
If any of us were able to get down into the detail of how the club is run on a daily basis, i am sure we would be shocked, and may well end up running for the hills just like MP!
