Quote: cadoo " A good tactic against our side would be to offload the ball in the tackle as much as possible. As nearly every journalist/fan/coach has pointed out, Wigan tend to have 3 or more players in the tackle. So if your coach has any wits about him he will encourage his skillful players to try to offload the ball as much as possible. It leaves gaps in the defensive line and will cause us some problems.'"
Now cadoo lets not go mad, completion rates are so important these days when trying to get field position, ball and building pressure if we are in wigans 20 say 4th tackle id say push the pass or offloads anything futher out or earlier in the tackle count will be seen imo as rugby league sueicide against the top teams or any team in this division.
Wigan will do exactly the same they will keep asking questions of our players individual defence and as a team, they will get within striking distance and push the pass, make the right decition if your succesful is dependant on if our players can react in a positive way and difuse the danger
thats why your a contender this year and every year because you as a team always manage to ask the right question of a team or a individual at the right time which for you usually comes up with a positive result for you guys
we tried that tactic @ wire, we coughed up too much ball in dangerous areas to us in our half and wire like yourselves have the quality to take advange and the game away from us.
We complete our sets back it up with intellegent rugby league asking questions about your defence, a good kicking game which turns your boys round and makes wigans next set as a "clear your line set" rather than a "building a attacking platform set"
Disapline is the big issue for me, for us to succeed we have to be firm but fair, any cheap penalties will only difuse the pressure on wigan put it on us and put wigan in areas where they can reaily hurt us.
I just hope the players turn up with the same attitude as the huddesfield game that will be a positive result for me.
