[iIn the last game against Leeds Rhinos all those without season tickets paid when entering the stadium via the main foyer.
I would imagine it will be the same against Wigan Warriors at the weekend.[/i

| It will be the last match in a Salford shirt for many of the youngsters who have performed brilliantly this year. No celebration or accolades. Just we're not going to renew your contract because we've scrapped U20s and we're going to have U16s and U19s only.
They may perform brilliantly in the hope that somebody out there does want them. Or they may be totally hacked off.
As the only performing team at SCR this season, they still deserve support. And let's hope that some team sees their value.
How any club, in any sport, can believe that a lad of 18/19 has to achieve SL level or be discarded, amazes me for its crass stupidity.
So far, I can't tell if this is SCR policy or that of the RFL. Either way, they need their bumps feeling!

| Are there no U20's signing for next year? If so why not, this 20's side has got to go down as one of the best crop of youngsters ever produced by SCR !!!

Think you will find this is an RFL directive, not sure of all the implications with it but it's down to cost.
Instead of the RFL wasting money on trying to spread rugby where it won't happen, clubs are moaning not enough players to sustain 14 teams, the RFL need to fully finance the running of the under 18' 20' & 23' to bring all the British talent through to enable clubs to find enough quality players.
Some guys don't really fill their potential until they are in their early 20'.
RFL, stop squandering money & put it where Rugby League needs it!!!

| This is a new initiative created guess where Australia.
The Toyota cup as it is called down there is for players aged betwen 17 and 19.
It has a salary cap and mirrors the NRL.
If you have not made it by the time you are 20 then thats it you are on the scrap heap.
This is fine where like in Oz there are multitudes of talented yougsters, also the pay is good in this league.
Over here it just will not work and we will se more youngsters going to Union or elsewhere.
Why do the RFL have to copy everything from Oz ?

Not quite. Over there they have the NSW cup ( www.nswrl.com.au/default.aspx?s=nsw_cup) and equivalents, which effectively run as reserve/feeder sides. That's the bit we're missing over here - unless you turn 14 of the non-superleague clubs into feeder clubs.

Which is the RFL's suggestion instead of the u20s. Problem is the better Championship clubs aren't keen.

| This so called initiative has come from the RFL, the idea is supposed to be to strengthen the cooperative leagues, if theres no 20s or 23s the players will go to the lower divisions to learn their trade, in theory sounds good, in practice not, every superleague club is in the same boat and will have to dispose of alot of very talented lads, the coop teams dont have the room for them all we will just lose alot of talent into the wilderness. There are people who say 14 teams in superleague is too many as we dont have the talent to fill them, well we will have even less now. The RFL have dropped a huge dogs doodah with this.
Salford 20s have been the most successful 20s team we have had in years and out of the blue the majority were told, sorry we no longer need you. My sympathy goes to Lee Spencer, Alan Hunte and all the backroom staff who have given so much time and energy nurturing and developing these lads, and all for what.
I cant understand why they had to disclose this information a few days before the biggest game the team will of ever played, i just hope they have the heart to turn up.
Good luck lads, to each and everyone of you, go out on Sunday and show the rest of the world how good you are and dont give up on your dreams.
RIP superleague, the RFL have just signed your death certificate.
