If Simms has come out to the press and singled out Sinfield as a player we are not signing, you have got to say hats off to Smithy. To get the Director of Football to personally deny a rumour to the press that Smithy blatently made up is quite an achievement!!

I think over the last few weeks the influence of this forum has been shown ( the Web shop ) after the discussion on here on now the press denial's Re Briers , Morley and Kevin Sinfield are as a direct result of discussions on here.

Most people who read or post on here take the speculation with a pinch of salt , even if it pertains to be ' in the know ' .
Some of us know stuff and don't pass it on , others will blurt it out and take the plaudits if true or the backlash if not ,
I seem to recall Simms proclaiming we had offers in for Craig Gower & Anthony Minichello. and that was far more embarassing than picking up on idle gossip off a fans forum and believing it.

Wasn't the Gower rumour confirmed by the man himself. He stated, the offer from Salford wasn't all that great and chose to turn it down.

Back on topic. After all Smithy's promises, I did keep the faith. That was until the Sinfield was named as the very person we were supposedly signing. Then it was obvious that, we weren't getting a big name after all. Oh well. Thanks for the entertainment Smithy!!!! You are legend.
