| I don't have a problem with it as long as one doesn't undermine the other. As long as things are fair and equal, crack on. We might even attract some cross-code new support. There's very little chance of local RL supporters defecting to watch the kick and giggle, but maybe a few might come across the other way, if they want to see proper Rugby.

| I totally welcome Sale moving in... I don't like the kick and clap... but if there is nothing to do during the winter and I fancy taking in a game, then it's on my doorstep. I don't really care who comes in and plays there as long as Salford are playing there in the summer in Super League.

| Feels to me like when you've been given a gift for your birthday or Christmas only to find that your big brother/sister has more use for said gift than you have and you never actually feel as though you owned said gift and the giver actually wished they had thought of giving them the said gift first.
Considering the stadium has wholey from its concept been built as the new home of Salford City Reds I can only ever imagine if Sale were to move in, that Salford City Reds will be squeezed even further into the unknown as far as public awareness goes. People crossing the Barton Bridge will look down upon it and instantly say 'Oh thats where Sale's new ground is - nice'.
I just read on the link to the other forum the Sale supporters are already calling it [iour[/i ground?
I'm not naive enough to believe the stadium would ever have been soley used by Salford RL but I definately fear the worst for Salford RL or RL IN Salford if Sale were to allow to ground share.
RU has muddied the waters of RL for over a hundred years and I would suggest that the higher authorities on this one think very carefully before ever allowing the kick and clap brigade 1 inch through the door of any negotiation table for a ground share with them. Bet media city are having a field day on this one.
I for one hope this rumour is way off the mark and I could easily think of a 100 ways to make use of the stadium than share it with a RU team.

That statement alone should set off huge alarm bells at Salford Council HQ.

We're in the process of discussions and negotiations and we don't know where that is going to end. "..with the Rugby League season running from February to September, there would be little cross-over with the Union calendar, and its location at the hub of Greater Manchester's motorway network would make it an ideal for vast majority of the Sharks' fanbase....Its large banqueting suite and 12 hospitality boxes would also help Sale generate more commercial revenue from blue-chip home fixtures, an area where Edgeley is sorely lacking at present....We're weighing up all the possibilities and there are clearly possibilities in Salford as well as with Edgeley Park and elsewhere. There's a lot of things to consider," Kennedy revealed'"

""I think what's happened with the cuts and the change at the election has made the Stockport option more difficult," Kennedy admitted.'"
Sounds to me fairly well advanced and a strong possibility of Sale using the venue next season for a selection of games & for the 2012/13 season full time . Who can stop them if the ' powers that be are keen on it ' ...

the award for the most ludicrous statement of the day goes to....................
100 ways? and most would make money beacuse that would be the criteria?
At last the answer to Salford City Reds marketing team worries, anyone who can make statement like that should have no problem upping our crowd to 6, 7 or even 8 thousand.
You sir exaggerate more than the supporter counters at Leigh, Hull KR put together.

Letting the sharks in would spell disaster for the Reds, they are parasites of the worst kind. Poor relations here we come. If you don't know what a Sale shark looks like check this out...

I'd start off with a tiddlywinks competition I may even think of a thousand ways but what the hell has it got to do with you anyone with half a brain cell could think of ideas, (I'm sure there are plenty in place) putting them into practice is where it counts and I don't recall stating I would?
What I did state is I would not want Sale RU anywhere near the stadium which was built in its first instance as home to Salford City Reds! Think before you respond to anything I write next time

And what revenue would that be? We're not going to own the ground - we won't see any revenue from Sale moving in.

Can only assume the poster means a lower shared rent.
Forgetting Sale for a minute, I think what you have to consider here is that it's surely in the council and peel's interests that Salford are more succesful at Barton than the Willows. If Salford have the burden of higher rent initially then this will be less to spend on the team. The stronger the team is in the longer term with hopefully improved crowds the more potential for the stadium management company to make more money further down the line.

The concern comes if Kennedy sells Edgeley Park and from that is able to buy a controlling share in the CoS Stadium, and is then able to whack the rent up as he sees fit, as Stockport are finding out.

You're assuming our rent would be lower due to the ground being shared. It wouldn't surprise me if that had no effect on it whatsoever, but I could just be being overly cynical.
