I agree just look at all the silly media fuss King Eric got when he simply demonstrated his karate skills to the Crystal Palace supporters a few year back.

Anyone remember a few years before that when we played at Thrum Hall and a player launched into the crowd to batter someone who questioned his wife's easy virtue?

Ian Gormley. He'd just been sin-binned for, as they say in The A-Team, "a crime he did not commit" (holding down when, clearly, we could see the Halifax player was clinging on to him to milk a penalty). The crowd were giving him verbals so he went to have a chat with them. The locals scattered like a Big Issue seller had just parachuted into their midst. Tommy Grainey (assistant coach) jumped in to get him off the terraces before he blobbed someone.

I remember Gormley jumping over the wall it was like moses parting the red sea. The gobby fax fans absolutely shat themselves and ran for their lives.

I remember that too. I've never seen a crowd disperse so quickly. I spoke to him the week after and he just grinned and said the red mist had come down.

I don't know about stopping, going off the Jewitt incident a few week back it would more likely be high fives!! eusa_hand.gif

This bottle incident has reared it's head again in the newspaper today. Have some of our fans been telling lies to the Doctor or is there more to this?

Someone might've been telling porkies at some point. The whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion I think.

That's basically yesterday morning's Radio Manchester interview rehashed into print a day late. And pretty much says the opposite of what the Doc said last night.

Bernie Weinstock obviously attended the same media college as Neil Barker, just lazy journalism as usual.

Considering the Doctor’s comment on Sunday about dealing with his own supporters if found to be lying, I wonder if this could mean a potential club ban or suspension for some people?

Quote: Original Salford City Red "Bernie Weinstock obviously attended the same media college as Neil Barker, just lazy journalism as usual.'"

How do the Manchester Evening News get away with it? they are just having a huge laugh at our clubs expense. Bernie Weinstock for anyone who doesn't know is a fictional character in a 1980's TV comedy drama called Jack Of Diamonds - Weinstock was the owner of Crimebusters International, a detective agency. icon_lol.gif

Hearing the interview on Sunday he, Koukash, clearly was under the impression that a "Warrington player" had thrown a bottle into the crowd.
If he didn't actually see that happen and has relied on third party information then at worst he has been hasty and naive.
Surely a simple one line apology to that effect clears up the whole incident.?

Confirmed he'd been given a somewhat exaggerated version by a group of 5 fans remonstrating with the Warrington Stewards.
he said he was going to write letters of apology to both the Warrington Club & the player in question.

Once that is done surely that is the end of it.
