Such a bad loser. Don't know why though, you should be used to it by now. Your team are simply awful.
How anyone that supports a team from the ghetto can attempt to insult any other fans is brilliant. Are you deliberately trying to be ironic by mentioning benefits and hub caps ? I'm quite confident in saying the crime rate & number of people claiming benefits in Salford is up their with the most depressed areas in the UK.
FYI, you live in the slums.

I'd be quiet happy with that, as long as the competition on the pitch was a little less one-sided?!
Nearest we have to a local derby and usually a good crowd and a good game.
Good following from Wire today, and a decent bunch in the main.
Seemed to make a reasonable amount of noise but I don't know how you put up with that drum week in, week out?!

could not hear you at the club end, apart from the drum, do you need that to sing?
6 years ago 300 from wire would have been the norm but the new money on the block and all of a sudden a fan base, bunch of glory hunters and the ones at our end were totally clueless, one even had a mullet.
Any club will take glory hunters because they bring in much needed cash, and the new money came after the new stadium. Since we moved to the HJ 8 years ago we've averaged over 10,000 for home matches. With a little bit of luck and good management Salford can start moving in the same direction from next year.

You almost had me - I almost had no answer until I saw your location. You should have put Stockton Heath, then you can call salford a slum - but Callands, now really!!
I suspect the nearest roundabout ( and there's bound to be one real close) has more value than the average 3 bed detached.
Salford is a dive, but look a little closer to home.

Salford= slums, yeah ok pal, now i was born in warrington and brought up in longford, now that is a hole, salford is 1st class compared to there.

I think you'll find that this was all started by your very own Bigpev whose reaction to a heavy defeat is to try to find some way of knocking Wire and our supporters that doesn't involve the team itself. Can't blame Wire fans for responding in kind.

Having worked in and around Salford for the past 15 years I know the [icity[/i quite well. Although the likes of Dallam & Longford are poor areas, they look like The Hamptons in comparisn to the likes of both Broughtons, Ordsall, Yeast etc. If you think otherwise, which you do based on your comical comment about Salford being 1st class which seems to be an obvious attempt to be ironic, then it would appear you've missed your true vocation in life. Get down to the Comedy Store and get yourself signed up for the Open-Mike night. You'll go down a storm with such a great sense of humour.

Yeah your right. From now on I'll look at Callands in a whole different light. Those pesky roundabouts really do bring the Warrington suburbs down ? And as for those issors Ikea, M&S etc.... don't get me started.

What kind of bizarre, f+cked up thinking does having an Ikea and an M&S equal having a thriving suburban (non-slum like) metropolis???
Another thing, where the hell is Yeast???

| Warrington, I like it. Culturally it benefits and suffers from it's hybrid-like creation, as a result of the unfairly named 'slum clearances' and overspill operations of the late 50's, 60's and 70's. Of course, this results in relative superficiality and identity... I suppose thie epitomy of this would be the adage 'if it wasn't for IKEA and Warrington RL, we wouldn't know it was there.'
Like most successful RL towns, this is precisely why they're respective RL team's are successful. Besides RL, there's little else to get passionate about.
Now, in Salford, we have a rich and abundant culture. Profound, diverse and until recently, concealed under the shadow of Manchester. Many reports have Salford, a victim of the demise of industrialism, as a resurgent and significant player. The recent successes at the Quays will hopefully continue to influence other regeneration projects in Ordsall and both Broughton's. Projects that have partly resulted in me returning to the city after 15 years in exile in a sleepy village in the pennines.
Hey, I could wax lyrical about how good Salford is all day but for fear of being dragged into a debate over whether Russell Watson or Kerry Katona has contributed more to music that'll undoubtedly unfold at some point, I'll leave it at that.
Like I say, I like Warrington but I'll happily stick with my slums although I suspect they're just a tad better than some misleaders would have you believe.
On another note, we should really have a look at the Wire's playing paradigm because that was one hell of a team I saw yesterday. 21st century RL played to a very decent standard.
