| Quote: chrismum "The problem the club have given themselves here is that they haven't published the non members price. I would imagine that this is going to be more than £130.'"
I very much doubt there will be a non-members price.
I think (in fact, think it pretty much says) you'll need to be a member before buying a season ticket.
Still think it's a reasonable package personally. It will mean that 'single' fans will have to pay an extra £20 (£180 rather than £160 last year) but that families will benefit.
It's no surprise that the club are trying to get more families in, even if it is at the cost of 'singles'. This deal is also a good way of encouraging those singles to bring family/friends/etc along and hence boosting crowds.
Perhaps those people slagging the club should looking further than the end of their noses before criticising, especially as it's often the same people that criticise the club constantly for not doing enough to improve attendances.
The Black Cat seems to have hit the nail on the head - accept that single blokes aged 16-40 are longer the target audience for RL so either pay extra and stop moaning or don't pay extra and choose your games.

| Irlam Dave and shirl have it right.... it was £160 last year. So the increase for a memebership and season ticket for an individual is £20. The memebrship I think is a good idea in so far as for people who bring family members now and again will get them in for a discounted rate.
I would like to see some more stuff done with the membership tho and i am told by someone at the club there are plans afoot. One is to revive the Junior Devils as part of the scheme. I do hope this is true and that it is the first sign of the club readopting/ rebranding the Devil. The same source at the club said to me today that the Devil has not been dropped, merely sidelined while we wait for the new Stadium.
I also had a 20 minute conversation with a very senior official at the club who told me that they are working so hard on the the stadium because without it they all know we will not be a SL club. I know they pi55 us off sometimes but I think the club are only too aware what the stadium means to our future.
If you are still confused as to the situation then why not click on the link to the email for season ticket queries at the bottom of the pricing page?

| Must have been the receipt for the year before then I found today.
This is an over complicated press statement, and appears to alienate a whole section of fans. I think the club is doing the right thing trying to attract families but not by alienating other fans.

| The club could set up a singles site, to organise dos for single fans to meet like minded fans and these may get together at a later date and become a family

That about sums it up FL.
Can I just add though something thats been mentioned on here on many occassion - That even if the club were to give season tickets away for free we'd still struggle to attract a decent attendance.
I hope what they've done works out how they want (I wasn't moaning about the cost really, seems very reasonable) but for mine, well I'm not sure it will!
I guess with the franchise scenario and this offer, the club will be able to show an increase in season ticket sales, great smoke screen!

| What a load of whingers think you will all find that you will be better off with the deal that is on offer.
As quoted, it is aimed at getting more families into the fan base, but singles will no worse off. if you pay per game it is, 13 home games at £18 per game = £234 + shirt £40=£274 add "magic w/end" cost will be over ££300, so massive saving there.

| how can this offer be alienating fans? your basically paying the normal price for a season ticket including the magic weekend! So probably works out cheaper than last year! So all the lonesome people whining about being ripped off, why dont you do yourselves and the club a favour and bring some of your family along for a discounted price!

| A few comments now I've caught up with the thread:
On the face of it, £180 for 13 games + cup + Murrayfield + shirt is decent. But it's a 12.5% rise on last year (inflation's running at about 1.8% at the moment), the price rise for season tickets is higher than for pay on the day (£20 v £13) and I'm fairly shocked to find us the 4th most expensive in the league (yes, you get a shirt, but not everyone wants one).
The idea of a membership scheme to get general discounted admission is a decent one, and it will be interesting to see how much uptake there is of it (not that out ST numbers ever get published), but I'm concerned at the effect that the £18 match day admission will have. My girlfriend hardly went to a game last season because she thought £17 was steep, the same with workmates who'd been the season before. With a matchday price of £18 the club will surely have to run a load of offers to attract casual or first time punters along, and these offers will no doubt end up putting noses out of season ticket holders again and if it's like last season, the offers will be sent to season ticket holders anyway.
Oh, and 30% of UK households are single person households, and they are the fastest growing type of household.

Indeed. And which club has by far the largest student population in Europe on its doorstep?

That's because single people can afford their own houses nowadays whereas in the past they would've spent it all on watching RL?!
