However despite the huge unlikeliness of us getting any kind of result on Friday, all the pressure is now on Hull to win and win comfortably. If we were to come up with some kind of shock on Friday, I suspect Radford will be looking for work on Saturday morning.'"
Well it wouldn't be too unwelcome in these parts. He's certainly not flavour of the month around here.

| Worst argument I have read on this matter if those who say "Salford/Koukash has CHOSEN to assemble an expensive squad with no depth" for f*cks sake we have 20 players unavailable according to the club (worse than I first thought) for Fridays game, is it any wonder we cannot muster a 17. How many Super League clubs carry squads of 37 and more? Ridiculous comments from opposition supporters who really should think before engaging.

| The only way around this would be for us to go cap in hand to the clubs Marwan has a good relationship with, ie Wigan and Warrington and ask if we can short term loan a couple of their fringe players. I see Kevin Penny and Gary Wheeler both played for North Wales at weekend, they would be a start.

| I dont agree with the request being made mainly due to the suspensions. If it was purely because of injuries I could see the sense in asking the question (no harm in asking, worst can happen is get told no). I am of the opinion, however, that due to the nature of how it has all come out into the media, whichever team you manage to get together for Hull start on the front foot. What it has done is put all pressure firmly onto the shoulders of Hull and enable any youngsters Salford play to just go over there and enjoy the experience. This could go one of 2 ways, obviously, however Hull now have all the pressure in the world on them and Salford have none at all. So, overall, not a bad move from the Salford club despite me and others thinking how stupid the original request was. Sometimes the daftest of ideas become some of the most productive. You may just unearth one of the 19's that steps up to the mark. Only my 10p worth!

Too young to remember myself but it was under Murphy. There were also shenanigans going on behind the scenes, namely that the big name players had signed a petition to present to the board to get rid of the coach. Couldn’t tell you whether that forced Murphy’s hand.

I think this proves my point about the U19's not being ready. No way could we throw them in against Super league opposition, it would be suicide

32990_1435324474.jpg First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg |

Adam Pearson and Lee Radford are under immense criticism from the Hull fans lately and you can't really blame them for wanting to take full advantage of our misfortune. They are two absolutely desperate individuals and they will be hoping a straightforward victory will take some heat off themselves. I honestly think they would still want to play us if we only had 17 Girl Guides.
We just have to take it on the chin and endure a few weeks of pain. The one plus is we now know what we are capable of when we get all these players back for the business end of the season. The present situation could actually work in our favour with fresher and fewer burned out players come the playoffs or the qualifiers.

I think it was under Ashcroft. At least I'm fairly certain we beat Bradford away to stay up under Ashcroft, and I think I remember a heavy midweek defeat away at Wigan before it.

Later than the one I'm talking about. Burgess’s debut?

| The game I’m talking about was Salford vs. Leeds, 9 March 1979. Salford lost 3–0 but fielded a fair amount of locals and reserves in the game.
Edward Kennedy, [iThe Guardian[/i, 10 March 1979
‘Salford, who have not won a match since 17 November and this week had a traumatic confrontation between the board, their coach, Alex Murphy, and his disgruntled players, played with remarkable enthusiasm in the circumstances.
‘They fielded a makeshift team because of injuries and illness and players rarely seen in senior rugby like the scrum-half [David] Harris, [David] Lang at Prop and the hooker [Paul] O’Neil rose well to the occasion. But for all their courage, lack of weight lessened their impact against a much heavier pack.’
Graeme Johns; Keith Fielding, David Stephenson, Sammy Turnbull, Steve Hey; Chris Hesketh (Capt.), David Harris; David Lang, Paul O’Neill, Alan Grice, Stewart Williams, Chris McGreal, Eric Prescott. Subs: Colin Whitefield, Alan Oldham.

As a neutral,I would be asking to why so many injuries! The suspensions yeah ok..That goes down to disipline. But to be carrying so many injuries, for me just does'nt come down to bad luck. And to comment on Fages as in taking so many head shots which yes he's probably use too.I don't see him on the injury list..
Possibly the problem lies somewhere else as...

| Not quite sure what you're suggesting. I don't think Morley turning his ankle or Godwin getting his teeth knocked out or even Dobson getting booted in the side of the knee is down to a flaw in our training methods !!!
Simply bad luck, which the club will get through !!!

You can add to that Sa'u injuring his arm in a tackle, Ben Jones-Bishop twisting his knee in a tackle, Josh Griffin breaking a bone in his foot when he landed after taking a short kick off, Jordan Walne a bad eye injury after a being poked in it and nearly going blind, Tommy Lee twisting a knee in a tackle and Liam Hood breaking his thumb.
As you say its just been pure bad luck.
