When I first went to the LSV it was like our plot, felt strange with nothing on there but the last time I went it looked much better with the supermarket, hotel and other businesses.
Hopefully in time ours will end up that way.'"
What I think we'll find is that the moment the link road is completed the retails units will shoot up, the new pub went up incredibly quickly. I'd say this time next year the entire place will look totally different, my hope is that the transport to the ground is taken into account when the rest of the area is developed.

You're right, perhaps I should only post when not at work so that I don't have my "management" hat on... afterall, it was my sense of humour and funtime attitude that got me supporting Salford in the 1st place.
Ok, swallowed and ready to rock, just checked, the pair I have are a decent enough size already so I'm good to go

| Is today not meant to be formal announcement day?
Re: sponsor. I think it's more likely to be one of the local dealerships rather than the main entity. The company in question is absolutely massive - if it was the main HQ sponsoring us it would be the most high profile main shirt sponsor Super League has ever seen.

| Then surely it would have the name of the dealership on there like when Hull FC were sponsored by a local Hyundai garage? I know Gloucester are also sponsored by Mitsubishi might just be the UK side of things. I don't know of any of their dealers in the area.

I bet you’re probably right. Yet from the perspective of image it doesn’t matter, because this is their main logo rather than something like RRG Toyota Salford Quays or Renault Blackfriars.
Compaq were a big name when Bradford sponsored them. ArcelorMittal sponsored Salford City a few years ago too.

| Nope, it's the actual big cheese Mitsubishi UK announced by the club and even more telling is the fact Mitsubishi UK Twitter account have alluded to it in this last hour with a tweet from their Managing Director about the press conference, hats off to the club really are heading in the right direction.

| Thumbs up from me. Traditional design, a lot less black than the previous two shirts and a nice shade of red. One of the best Superleague jerseys I've seen for some time.
As for the new sponsorship deal. Is any money actually changing hands or is it simply use of a few cars?

Club was aiming for a nationally recognisable main shirt sponsor . over just cash .
also the club haven't lost the old sponsor and they were happy to ceed front place .
the Club are looking for exposure
as for the cars
Edinburgh RU only got 5
rlhttps://www.edinburghrugby.org/news/15/10/07/edinburgh-rugby-finds-perfect-match-mitsubishi-motors-ukrl
Norwich City only got 8
rlhttps://www.sportspromedia.com/news/norwich_city_fc_partner_with_constitution_motorsrl
For Gloucester RU , who are in the head offices back yard they do podcasts run from the car makers own site
rlhttps://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/gloucester-rugby/rl
the bill to lease 9 company cars on an 10 k mileage you are looking at 35-45k a year + vat
If we get anyway near the attention they give to Gloucester its a good deal.

Depends on the vehicles but I'd have thought about 35K. Wasn't the previous deal with Peel 200K a season? Do we know if they are still sponsoring the club to this tune? I appreciate the point you make about exposure but the Trafford Centre and Media City weren't exactly small time shirt sponsors.
Spare a thought for Wakefield though who are now sponsored by a Fish & Chip shop.

| A fish and chip shops pound coins are worth just the same amount of pound coins as Mitsubishi, Peels etc. Hopefully we've received something decent out of it.

| Rubbish - being associated with such a large corporation brings infinite more benefits, obviously the kudos to other sponsors of such an involvement and you'd think the link will offer Salford exposure at Misubishis end of the deal. You'd hope they would bring other corporate types which will if handled right help Salford.

No doubting it’s a huge name, but all we’ve been told is they are giving us 9 vehicles for the clubs use whereas with the Trafford Centre deal for example, we knew it was worth £200,000 which for a club of our size and stature was a genuinely great deal.
I’m by no means knocking it, just interested to know how much the club will be receiving so it can be compared to previous sponsorship deals to understand just how good it actually is. I remember you raving about Under Armour last season, another big, worldwide name but ultimately our deal with them saw the club lose money from a vital income stream.

| I think you need to re-read the 1st part of my post
Non of the other 6 new shirt sponsors deals have divulged. But all are contributing
I appreciate the interest to know the detail , but as the club said they are learning.
The most expensive signings weren't our best signing,
One of the biggest kit suppliers wasn't the right kit supplier for us.
