I'll make things simple for you. Find the same grade of offence that a Leeds player has been charged with to that which Chasevwas charged with and where they can be perceived to have got a holiday in Spain as a result.
I have not made any statement as to the bias of the RFL Disciplinary Committee so there is no point to be void, however, Red Eye has and as you state if you and he cannot evidence bias towards Leeds then by trying to defend him you are much a as he is.

2. People are shouting for Rangi to be banned as long as Ferries is injured, ????? not 4 weeks ago, A Salford player tackled a Catalans player. the coach cried it was a foul tackle and said player was going to be out for months with broken ribs, and bugger me 2 weeks later said player was back on the pitch fit anwell. Untill he got injured again.
3. we had 2 players injured against wigan, did or coach go crying to the RFL or SKY. NO he didnt, its a contact sport, Injures happen, maybe our coach should shout loader and cry on the tele, he mite get a few players from other teams banned for a few games,
4 Cant wait to see the match on SKY tonite and the first player who comes in round the bottom of the legs, or walks into the ref????
and see how many games they get banned for .

I was also going to raise this point and for me it's even more pertinent given the dominant tackle rule because coaches are specifically drilling into players the need to get the man on the ground so that it prevents a quick ptb and gives time for the defence to set. I think it's the combination of these two aspects that actively encourages players to try and find any way to get the opposition player on the deck. If the Ref shouts held the moment forward momentum stops then it would lessen the need for players to try getting them on the ground as they would immediately concede a penalty. I know Refs may be waiting just to see if the ball is offloaded in order to not disrupt the flow of the game but as we have a rule that still allows a play the ball if the ball is offloaded after the Ref has shouted held that could lessen the impact. As always, though, I suspect many would not like to see what I've just said there and it may solve one problem and create another.

| How about the only person allowed to make contact below the thigh is involved in a one man tackle.
The grapple tactics employed today are ruining our game.
Are kyd the Butcher will tell you at school a million years ago you stood your ground, stooped down and then drove the shoulder into the midriff, or just smothered them and you ended up on your but an effective one on one had been made.
The referees/establishment as are as fault as anyone.

| The trouble is, that the rules that govern the sport have been tightened and the way that RL players defend (Both in NRL and SL) has evolved.
Defense follows a couple of basic rules. Collision. Control. Grapple/Wrestle. And finally, dictate the PTB speed. Whether we agree with the way RL defense acts, this is the basic concept of modern RL defense.
The rules have tightened-up on the collision aspect. Banning shoulder charges. The grappling/wrestling aspect is an inevitable consequence of the collision. Less players are initially put to ground. This is what's leading to an increase in third man dangerous tackles as players try to ground the standing ball carrier. The defenses ultimate aim is to control and dictate the speed the opposition can ptb, and this is leading to an increase in spear tackling and raising the legs dangerously high.
The easiest way to combat these problems is if the refs call held sooner.
It would force defending teams to concentrate on grounding the player first before concentrating on the collision and control. Therefore, hopefully, forcing them to defend in a more traditional way. They could also just say that attacking the legs of a ball carrier already engaged by defenders become illegal. Like the shoulder charge. Supporting defenders could only come in above the waist. Not sure if that's feasible though to be honest.

I personally think that the format of the judiciary committee is flawed.
As it stands, each incident is judged on its merit and context. Which seems fair enough as no two incidents, even of the same type, are identical. But to me, instead of this there should simply be a blanket rule for each incident where they are simply judged on that charge. This way everyone on the same charge gets the same ban. It's consistent. It may mean that some ambiguous incidents get over-penalized but it retains consistency.
The other problem at the moment, is that a players history and form are taken into account with regards punishment and I think that's wrong. It's a form of pre-judgement before an incident is even looked at. Not only does it bias the guys negatively who have been up in front of the judiciary before, it also allows for watered-down penalties for potentially serious incidents to players who don't regularly visit the judiciary. Foul play is foul play and should be punished consistently. This is what annoys fans.

| I'm not sure I agree with a blanket policy. The circumstances of each incident are different so for instance the punch by hauraki against wigan shouldn't be judged the same as the flower incident. a head high shot could be reckless or accidental. How do you decide what incident is the same as another? I also think that past indiscretions should be taken into account. If a player is endangering others with a particular technique and he's had warnings about it before and continues to use it then that should be taken into account.

| I think if they were ever to move to fixed punishment it would have to be very specific and not blanket punishment.
Punching an unconscious person would need to be a separate rule than punching someone that had just headbutted you for example....And before last years GF who in their right mind would have even thought of that as a rule?!
The scaling punishments seem fine, they just need to be more consistent with their application.

| Does anyone know who the disciplinary people are? It has been alleged by many on RL Fans over recent years that they appear biased towards Yorkshire clubs or players? Probably untrue but it would be interesting to see some stats over the previous few seasons to clear it up. Consistency and transparency is all you can ask.
