A lot of Wigan fans agree. My view is that Logan is underrated by them, but not, crucially, by Shaun Wane. He will be MMc's understudy IMHO. Williams is really a half back.

| Quote: John Gilbert Reds "I'm amazed at all the hype surrounding Marc Sneyd. You could be fooled into thinking he is the next Jonathan Thurston.
One good half a season at Castleford, where the rest of the team are also over achieving as individuals suddenly entitles you to be banded around Super League by your agent. Crazy.
I hope he stays, we havent had many products from our youth system over the years and it would be a shame to see one let go, particulary after the promise he's shown over the last 4 months. Lets not get carried away though.'"
If he doesn't watch out his Agent could turn this into a real problem for Marc because if Koukash decides he is keeping him then your fans may just turn on him if his performces arn't up to scratch.

| This must be very unsettling for Marc Sneyd and I can't see this situation being resolved any time soon. The timing isn't the wisest move by his agent with a lot more games in front of Sneyd this year.
If this gets in his head his form could suffer.

Not great from the travelling masses from Salford But what you have to remember is there is only 1 person to blame for that and its a certain Mr Noble. We have made our own fair share of transfer gaffs over the years though namely Shaun Lunt, Who would have thought he would have turned out to be the player he is? Certainly not me.

| We'll give him a good reception. At the end of the day we used Sneyd as bait for Chase and it's backfired on us. Although i would still ask for a big transfer fee as for me Sneyd is a class act (hope he makes a u-turn). And still young we need to start seriously looking for a class hooker as this is a position with the expection of Tomkins we've struggled!

If he doesn't want to stay then we should get rid, but, on the other hand, we also shouldn't be held to ransom over him.

| Couldn't this in the end ultimately disturb Cas more than us. Marc plays a blinder at Magic Weekend and Powell is happy too tell the world that he wants to sign him thus potentially unsettling our player.
We enter into negotiations with him and make it very plain that we expect him to honour the remainder of his contract with us and that both parties allegedly discuss converting him into a hooker.
Marc is touted round by his son of Salford agent (Blease I hope never darkens our door again) and the player puts in a transfer request.
Now surely if say a Saints or Warrington came in with a bid too purchase him immediately we would do just that meaning that Castlesfords lynch pin this season is sold from under their feet potentially destabilising their campaign and them dropping further down the ladder (they already looked like a bubble has burst at Wigan last week).
I guess for that scenario too happen us selling player with immediate effect would null and void his season long loan move.

I wouldn't consider Sneyd as Castleford's lynchpin. He's had a decent half season and his goal kicking has been top drawer but I consider them more a collective force of hard working players motivated by Powell in the infancy of his tenure. New blood, new enthusiasm. For how much longer will the sun keep shining? 3 months, 6 months, 12 months? Much credit for getiing where they are but the really hard part will be sustaining this level over a longer period.
I wouldn't be surprised if a rugby union club make an offer for Sneyd because his biggest asset is his kicking game.

| I’m torn on his reception;
a) I hope he gets a good reception, would be a shame to things turn sour between the fans and the player. He deserves our support, the club loaned him out, he’s proved a point at Cas thus far yet the club sign another Australian on a big contract to play in his position. If he knows the fans are still with him, he may decide to work harder than he has this season to force his way into our starting 13.
b) He deserves all the sh*t he gets. Going on loan was meant to assist his development as a Salford player, yet his head has been turned after 4 months of good performances. After Salford have brought him through their youth system, gave him his first Super League opportunity he disrespect the fans and the club by handing in a transfer request despite having 18 months left on his contract. One summer doesn’t make a swallow, to big for his boots and we’ve signed a better player in Dobson. Let him go for the right price.

Salary cap - you're havin a laugh.: |
|
| Regarding point B above, he doesn't really owe Salford anything. He has waited long enough for his chance, yet despite years at Salford the first club to give him a regular starting spot has been Cas.
However, I agree that we should let him go for the right price. We could end up with a situation where Cas end up with a Salford half back (Sneyd) whilst Salford end up with a Cas half back (Brierley).
Interesting times.

Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.: |
|
| Quote: Aboveusonlypie "Well Sneyd isn't doing a bad job at Cas. Dobson however did ok at Hull KR, but hasn't had much of a chance at the Knights. He will probably be better than Tim Smith, but does he have much improvment in him? Sneyd on the other hand, you would have to think, has a lot more potential in the long run. I would have thought that after the likes of Melli and Puletua you would be fed up of short term signings? Why not carry on your investment in Sneyd?
What is obvious to everyone is that you need a hooker. Logan will be back at Wigan next season.'"
I'm not sure Sneyd is the organiser at Cas. I think that's more Liam Finn's role. If only there were some Cas fans on here who could tell us who's right. For me, Salford's dilemma is not Dobson or Sneyd, but Chase or Sneyd.
You're right about us needing a hooker though. Hopefully, we'll get Gareth Owen back from his season long loan, but we still need another one. Logan has been great for us, and I'd have been happy to see him stay (over Clark, to be honest), but it looks like that won't happen.
We also need a couple of props and a centre. This might be where Marc Sneyd's value lies: clubs could start offering props and hookers in swap deals.
