"In his autumn before the winter comes man's last mad surge of youth." "What on earth are you talking about?":986.jpg

Quote: Davey999 "Time will also tell if my sources are correct in their whispers that Justin Morgan has in fact been thrown into the mix for both the Castleford job and this one. He's got a good head on his shoulders and his recruitment was good at Hull KR. And it's obvious that where ever he goes Dobson will follow as a result of that sinking ship. Think there could be more to poach if he returns to the Super League. Noble and Morgan are good mates from their days on the BBC, perhaps there will be a similar set up to Hull FC, although I do believe that Morgan can stand on his own two feet.

Morgan's wife has also started a business here targeting player welfare, my sources say she met with the RFL last week. Could be interesting.'"

Justin Morgan 's name was dropped v-early on after Veivers going but has not featured since . A non Runner?
He left HKR to take up , assistant coaching Job at Canerra Raiders , but got sacked half way through his 2 year deal , Morgan & Quentin Pongia were replaced with new Assistant Coaches Andrew Dunneman & Brett Kimmorley . Morgan is now in dispute with the RaidersMorgan was dumped as an Assistant at Canberra a few weeks ago and is currently negotiating a payout.

Morgan remains on Canberra's payroll because he has not been able to negotiate a payout for his Aus$130,000-a-year salary as an assistant coach. ''I'm not sure where this is going to head. I want to stay involved in the game, I want to keep coaching ideally, but if Canberra stand in my way, so be it,'' Morgan said. ''If it means I've got to sit the season out, I'll sit it out. I moved from the other side of the world under the assumption I was going to have a job for two years and those goalposts have moved. I'm slightly frustrated that there's not a great deal of closure on the issue."

First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg

Quote: Michigan red "Couple of points.

If Noble doesn't want a long term deal that works perfectly, have him until the end if this year which gives him ample time to bring some structure to the team and all the time work on helping the club with the long term coaching appointment after the World Cup. '"

Surely its better to have a coach in place beyond this season. If we are looking to attract some quality players for next year I think any targets could be put off if they didn't know who the coach was going to be? The club needs some stability now to start building some momemtum and a short-term appointment isn't going to give us that.

If Noble did come in on a short-term basis and put some structures in these structurers could be completely different to what his successor wants and this could totally confuse the players.

I do recall a quote from Dr Koukash where the person he wanted as head coach was already known before he left for Dubai.
With regard to Noble helping with a further coaching position when he left Bradford he was followed by the current English coach who was villified by the Bradford fans despite the good signings he made and the quality of youngsters that were being brought through and the recently made public financial mess.
Noble did NOT seem to have an input into his successor at Wigan and at Crusaders Harris took them from the play-offs to the wooden spoon,or near enough.Harris went from head coach back to assistant.
Just to keep me out of this there are some comments from last year from Bradford supporters rlHERErl

I'd like Noble to be appointed as our coach.
I think he's the right man at this stage of our development.
However,if its true that he wants a short term appointment,I'd see him off.
We want commitment,not hedging bets.
The MEN may be wrong,anyway

Not official yet but plenty of ' twitter' about his departure from Cas ,

If stories are to be believed it's the start of a major changes at Cas as they attempt to dig their way out of their financial straights , Chase is linked with St George , Daryl Clark is linked with Warrington in a bid to lighten their wage bill and raise cash. Justin Morgan to replace Millward.

So ... Millward ?

If you've got money to spend, he'll do alright, but he's not a coach suited to a salry capped league.

Millward would be a step backwards as don't rate him, I'd bud again for Chase and Clarke though to see if they except a joint cash offer.

I'm dubious that we ever did bid for Chase to begin with. Firstly it's pretty well known that the England international won't be able to get a work permit at another English club, as proved by Hull's aborted attempts to sign him. Secondly, Farish was very dismissive of Chase as a potential target at the recent FR meeting.

Clark, however, would be a massive statement of intent. I get the feeling though that if Cas gave any notice of a likelihood of selling him, then he'd be able to take his pick of just about any club in SL (and probably a few in the NRL).

Very surprised to see Millward going though, not because of results but because of financial constraints in paying him off.

Didn't chase get married recently? Sure I heard his visa probs are sorted now. Also why sign clark, that would be another hooker on the books. We just got rid of one, we have 2 on the books and one out on loan. Surely other areas need improving first. ie scrum half and centre

Hull spent a fortune on lawyers to get around the ruling to not issue Chase a VISA - not going to happen

Now it is confirmed Millward has left Castleford it makes it very interesting as both he and Sean Long have mutual respect for each other.( Read it a few times, somewhere.Comes from their time at Saints together )

After the tragedy of the death of his teenage son last year,I can only feel sorry for Ian Millward.
It would be better for him to be very busy and heavily involved in rugby league.Working with Sean Long and our young players may be hugely beneficial to him.

Serendipity, perhaps ? The lesser of 2 evils ? I think his wife is from Leigh,so at least he will be a little more 'local' for us than a Yorkshireman, having spent time at Saints,Wigan and Leigh.
