Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| A bad day at the office , you were always gonna be up against it especially after we(Wigan) beat Les Cats last week convincingly, but don't lose heart you have a good team and a good coaching set up , there's no reason why you can't bounce back against the Rhinos next week , but you will need to continue to play the way you have been playing prior to today to get anything out of the game.

| good display from the Catalans - very disappointed with the Reds as I was expecting more, especially when you consider the amount of Catalan first choice players out.
Salford looked very weak at the back especially down their left with fragile defence when attacked at speed - great try from young Josh who showed Briscoe-like speed to finish.
it has to mentioned that Mr Alibert was terrible and gave some really dodgy decisions against the home side - he certainly wan't biased for the french outfit....the margin of victory should have been higher but for some ridiculous decisions IMO
good to see the Salford fans who were great - well done lads (especially the shivering two in red skintight suits !) - you are a credit to your club

A lack of first-choice players affected both teams, ours in the very area you've highlighted (according to our coach that is, I haven't yet seen any of the game).

| Catalans had 7 first team players missing. We struggled with just both wingers out. Proves the desperate measures of our squad. Seen one try on you tube scored by Millard, Holdsworth or Patten couldn't make it out should of bounced him into the Med. Well if PV's the defensive coach he's responsible for getting players defensive qualities right regardless if their playing out of position, communication is key.

| I take some positives out of the performance...
Yes, we got well beaten by a better side on the day, and I agree with their coach on the BeeB, their defence was excellent and Cats were clinical in the first half .... BUT .... we kept on creating chances and heads didn't drop like they we've all seen happen too often in the past. There's a spirit there in this side that was completely lacking under McCrae.
Clearly there are better teams than Salford at the moment, but this Reds side has more about it than I've seen for a good few years, they are worth supporting & I'll continue to do so (unlike some on this board)

Your back are you spouting the usual $hite.
We only had two wingers missing did we
With the small squad we have we will struggle at places like Catalans or any of the other top teams.
All I ask for is effort and a performance from the team.
If you dont want this(which is obvious it is not enough for you) then dont come on here spouting your supposed words of wisdom.

Hmmmm de ja vous. Do you know what the word means? As your implying we were behind away at Catalans in the past.....and it's happening again.
2010 Catalans 14 - 22 City Reds
2011 Catalans 10 - 22 City Reds
So with your pointless comments corrected it isn't a regular occurance is it? and there were no complaints. The lads got on with the game, kept there heads up and scored 2 quick trys near the end.
Your complete lack of faith and support still shocks me. You weren't there so how would you know how the lads were playing ?
A scoring doesn't tell the whole story. Look at Wigan. They played rubbish ( by there standards and only lost by 1 point...
To say the lads thru the towel in so early on again blows a hole in your alleged support.

totally wrong pal
as a neutral, you lot were outplayed by a good side with good back up players to replace the injured lads - Bosc was brilliant at FB and Robinson outcoached PV - don't blame the lack of wingers, the Josh Vievers wing try was brilliantly taken - he looks really nippy
Your big problems were left side with Nero unable to combine to keep out a brace of Blanche tries which set the pattern for the rest of the game - just bad organisation in defence - you looked ok going forward but Fakir,Ferriol & Simon & co stifled any forward movement. Ben Fisher did well as stand in for Hendo.
The Reds never gave up but were simply outplayed and outcoached IMO - a big loss but a lot of positives to take back to the Salford training ground
you can't blame the ref - he was so biased [iagainst[/i the Catalans it's not true ! a normal reffing performance would have seen the margin of victory even bigger !
